The explanation was weak. As a romantic and friendship Gizzie fan, I felt gypped by it.
I am so happy we finally had scenes though. I hope we get the friendship back at least and maybe someday, we can get a reunion? Not right now, but one day.
I hope Shonda lets TR show hi acting talents in this.

One question: Why is everyone on here spazzing about that rumor? Why do people actually believe what Aussiello said? Shonda is NOT going to suddenly decide to kill George instead of Izzie. For starters, I don't think they can even do that considering there'd be a league of fans with pitchforks ready to set her on fire, and another thing... Why would she want to kill sweet, lovable George?
I'm hoping people on here consider that, because that's the most ridiculous rumor I've ever heard about this show, and I've heard a lot of spacey, Twilight Zone-rated things, too.
Bleh. I'm hoping he'll find out this week. Of course, I won't know until Friday morning because people are friggin' stupid where I live and want to air a basketball game all weekend. Morons...

I agree. I don't think that anyone is going to die, at least not this season. Shonda (who I know can be very unreliable) has said that there is going to be a joyous wedding at the end of this season. If anyone is dying or is dead, I just don't see how it would be joyous.
Even if the wedding is A/I and we get some sort of "deathbed" proposal or wedding, that isn't joyous, its unbearably sad. I think that things will get alot sadder before they get better, but they will get better.
My guess is that if they aren't staying, then TR (and maybe KH) have negotiated some kind of schedule where they would appear in a few episodes next season so that their storylines could be wrapped up in a manner that isn't contrived or rushed. But I don't think that anyone is going to die anytime soon.

TDS-- excellent points as to why there is no chance that any major character is going to die! I didn't even think of that! If Izzie or George died, even a MerDer wedding would have a big cloud of doom over it. It most certainly wouldn't seem outright joyous! And a deathbed AI wedding would be sad for sure, not joyous. Speaking of Alex, I think he is going to run the whole gammut of emotions once he finds out--- I think it's going to be painful to watch actually. Izzie just hasn't been able to tell him yet b/c for once he is happy and successful!
Gigi-- thanks for posting. I'm really hoping that Shonda will let TR shine in these final epis, I really do! One step at a time with Gizzie. They are talking! They are connecting! And George still knows her 100% through and through-- she can't hide from him!!! Now, if Shonda lets us full force have the Gizzie friendship back, I will be so happy!!!
McSeriously Obsested-- rumor is there will be much more George in this last part of the season!!! Here's to hoping!! and hoping and hoping and hoping......

You're right Marie-- the rumors just have to be true!! I miss George, I miss Gizzie... Maybe, just maybe Shonda & Co. have begun to hear us and we'll have more George and more Gizzie and KH and TR will stay on Greys!

this is my reaction to tonight's epi--
"OK. I am crying. No. I am bawling. I am so so sad. So sad for Izzie. And so glad. So glad to see George. We actually saw George this episode... for more then 20 seconds. I am so glad that Shonda let us see George care-- in noticing and knowing something is wrong with Izzie and asking her what enema was code for. and I know I've been trying to be so glass-half-full and hoping Shonda will give us true Gizzie friendship. But I am so mad! How can anyone feel sorry for Alex???????? I love Alex's character, I really do, but when it comes to Izzie he's a bleeping idiot!!!!!!! I can't even feel bad about how it's going to affect him!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I am so mad at Shonda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she should have wrote it as George pushing Izzie about it and Izzie tells George herself. and I'm so sad.... so sad when George started running. so sad when George walked in with his smile for Izzie. His sweet George smile. When you know his heart is breaking into a million pieces. I've cried at Greys before. But never like this. I am bawling."
Just reposted b/c I am so emotionally drained.
But I wanted to get discussion going on what this means for Gizzie.
