Forgot the why :P Because they look real and they support each other. They are building something big and they don't have the need to jump one on the other in the oncall room (it's diferent for a change ;) )

Everything that anika said....Owen and Cristina are the best. They have a real relationship, not just jumping into bed with other. Sticking up for each other, teaching, learning. They are the best!

Meredith and Derek are of course my favorites. They have always loved each other, even when the situation didn't lend itself to them being together. They were in pain being away from each other.
That being said, I also LOVE Callie and Sloan. I know they were never officially a couple, but I think they have some of the most awesome and honest chemistry on the show. Owen and Cristina are very good too.

I have loved Meredith and Derek together since the beginning of the show. they are meant to be together. i am not usually a cheesy kind of person, but when it's about mer and derek, I really am!

My top of course is Meredith and Derek. Perfect together! Love their chemistry and their storylines.. always been interesting and romantic. They're strong and they're made for each other.
I know you said choose one.. but I do like Cristina with Owen together! They're real (agreeing with Anika and McHottieAddict) hehe I think that's the perfect word to describe them! There's something between them and you could see it from the first episode this season.. loved the spark.. it's grown and is really wonderful!

My very favorite is hands down Izzie and George.
Their love is so pure and unconditional, and they have such an amazing connection and chemistry.
They were the loveliest couple, and I miss them. They always made me so excited to watch the show.
Then my second is MerDer. I want them to make it.

I'm totally in love with MerDer! I also love the chemestry and their relationship is'nt going that well, it isn't just all the good stuff. And the wedding! I really love it, finally it is going well!
I also love Christina and Owen. I love the way how cristina acts, and owen's soft side.

Well, I love all of the friendships on the show, especially Alex/Mer and George/Izzie, but my favorite romantic relationship is Alex and Izzie. I like my romance with a bit of an edge and a bit of dysfunction, and these two definitely provide that, no mushy stuff for them. Also, this is just my opinion. It isn’t a reflection of any other couple or character on the show. If you don’t agree with it or you don’t like them as a couple, please keep it to yourself, this isn’t the thread for arguing over couples.
I love them because Izzie wants a fairy tale with Prince Charming, and she has Alex. She wants flowers and she gets a bouquet of corpses and Frank’s boob tube. She wants poetry and she gets “I like your rack…but if you got rid of them that’s okay, because really I’d want you” and “I spooged in a cup for you today.” She wants romance and she gets an ugly pink cake that tastes kind of funny. But I think that Izzie needs someone like Alex who can keep her grounded. She has very high expectations for people and she can be kind of judgmental, but I think that Alex is able to pull her head out of the clouds and get her to sort of face reality.
I love them because they are passionate and they both give as good as they get. As we all know, Alex can be a jerk, but Izzie calls him on that and won’t let him get away with treating her that way. Similarly, I think that Izzie tends to bully the guys she is with and act rashly and then tries to justify her behavior. Alex tells her the truth even when she doesn’t want to hear it and brings her a little more self awareness than she usually has. They keep each other on their toes. They have been cruel to one another and tender with another. I don’t think I could take this in real life, but I am a sucker for a love/hate relationships in books, tv and movies.
I love them because there was no obstacle for them being together other than their own insecurities and stubbornness. There was no intern/attending drama and no spouse – hidden or otherwise.
I love them because Alex has loved Izzie above everyone else since S2 and also sabotaged himself many times along the way because he couldn’t handle caring so much. But I also love that Izzie finally understands him and cares about him and won’t stop caring about him no matter how hard he pushes her away.
I love them because they have a dysfunctional and complex past. Between Olivia, Denny, George and Ava, they were able to fight with each other, depend on each other, trust one another, get closer as friends and roommates and finally find their way back to each other.
I love them because since they decided to “go steady” this season there has been no drama (minus Denny and the cancer), no hysterical sobbing, no annoying speeches about love and no self-sabotaging tactics. They just seem happy and relaxed with another. I can see it the way Alex looks at Izzie and I can see it in the way she smiles at him and can’t seem to keep her hands to herself when she kisses him.
Finally, I love that they aren’t perfect. They are flawed and they fight and are real with each other, even when its painful and even when its ugly. They are complex and interesting to me. Sometimes they bring out the worst in each other, but usually they bring out the best. They have helped each other grow as people and as doctors. They have had similar life experiences and yet Izzie deals by optimism and a belief in fairy tales and Alex deals with cynism and putting up walls against pain. And yet they still manage to complement one another. Izzie gives Alex hope for the future and Alex shows Izzie that Prince Charming may not exist, but a real man, in all his complexities, may be far more interesting and satisfying than a fantasy.
They might not be everyone’s idea of romantic but they are definitely mine and they may be frustrating and dysfunctional at times, but they are never boring.

Ya its true what you say that Izzie and Alex have nothing between them and is romantic in every way with the cake and we see that he is scared when she was having the brain surgery and that he dosent want to lose her :D
