I love you

   I discovered this while writing in another forum. The last and only time we hear Derek say "I love you" is 3x01!! We never hear Meredith say it! I find it sad.  What do you think?

   Nooo, Meredith said this almost in the end of2x05 when she's begging him to choose her.

   Meredith: Okay here it is. Your choice. It’s simple. Her or me. And I’m sure she’s really great. But Derek… I love you…. in a really, really big … pretend to like your taste in music, let you eat the last piece of cheesecake, hold a radio over my head outside your window…unfortunate way that makes me hate you, love you. So pick me. Choose me. Love me.

   Derek also says that he loves Meredith two times at the end of season 3.

   The first is when she comes to his trailer after he is giving her "space" and undresses and gets in his bed.  When she asks him why he is not happy after sex, he says "i love you and i want you, but i don't know if i want to keep breathing for you".

   The second is the finale of season 3 in the intern's locker room when Meredith tells him "Here's how it goes, Meredith I don't want to see you anymore, Meredith, I don't love you anymore" and then Derek says "Meredith, i do love you, don't you see?  Don't you understand?  You're the love of my life.

   Also, Meredith tells Ellis in "Wishin and Hopin" that she really loves Derek and she's happy.

   thats funny, i was just watching 3.21 and heard derek say i love you and came to post that.  anyhow, they do say it more than once in sentences, but its never just "i love you"

    Exactly orchid! I mean in 3x01 Derek says it as part of a speech, so really neither of them have ever said "I love you." Also the example from "Wishin and Hopin"  dosent count because she told her mother not Derek. All the times they've said "I love you" was part of a long speech.

    CANT THEY JUST SAY "I LOVE YOU"!?
