Asked about Katherine Heigl's comment that Meredith and Derek might be getting hitched - on the show's 100th episode, no less - Pompeo grinned and said, "There's a wedding. . . . There's a setting that's a wedding, that's all I can say. I can't say who gets married. We're still working on the episode."

I don't think that they will actually get married. I think it will be Alex and Izzie :-(

Yeah.. if you go to spolier tv they have all these different articles that talk about how Shonda won't show the end of the episode script to anyone as she doesn't want to give away who gets married. It may take place on their wedding day - but I don't think that they will end up being the ones who are getting marries :(

Someone said on the comments that thinks that the wedding will be a dream sequence. I'm inclined to think the same... This season started with a dream and Shonda love this kind of simetry. Besides all words about it say that will be a wedding day, not exactly a wedding per se...
If you see the 100th episode celebration pic, JDM (Denny) was there! I know that he played an important role on Grey's, but he was only a guest star... Was he there only for celebrating or in fact he was there to film some scenes? Will Denny return this season?? Maybe for a wedding?
Maybe Izzie will be dreaming about her wedding with Denny or indeed die and go with him into the light (again this season premiere)... Maybe Izzie health deteriorates and MerDer call off their wedding or give place to Izzie to get married before she dies... Maybe it will be a double wedding, MerDer and Izzie/Alex or Mark/Lexie...

Yeah Shonda does love her symmetry. If it was a dream Mer/Der wedding, I would literally cry, but that is a thought, as she did say it was there wedding day, and that doesn't mean that they will go through with the whole thing.
I really believe that it will be on Mer/Der's wedding day, but something will go wrong with Izzie and they want to wait for her to be there, then I think it will be Alex/Izzie that get married.
