Question: Shonda Rhimes said the 100th episode of Grey's Anatomy takes place on Mer and Der's wedding day, but you said they're not getting married. What's the deal? --ClaireAusiello: Do I have to remind you of Shonda's long and well-documented history of injecting her spoilers with tricky and misleading wordplay? Case in point, Izzie doesn't have a brain tumor, she has a brain metastasis. Here's the deal: Unless the script underwent an 11th hour rewrite, I stand by my earlier statement that Mer and Der do not get married on May 7. The only thing I'm unsure of is whether or not I should reveal the name of the bride and groom who are tying the knot in that episode. I'm on the fence about that one. What do you think I should do? Submit your pro/con arguments in the comments section. I'll get one of our interns or Annie Barrett to tally up the votes at the end of the day.

Well, I think that it should be a surprise, I guess it won't be interesting to know now. I'm all like "OMG, 3 weeks left", I don't want to lose that feeling of excitement while I wait. I'm so addicted to this show. And it's kind of funny to try to anticipate whose wedding it's going to be. So, I guess, NO, I don't want to know. That's just my opinion.

So, I read the whole article on EW about this. I also read the comments, and some people were whining about Shonda "using Mer/Der" to promote the show and drag us along. Hello? This is what the whole show is based on, isn't it? Meredith is the title character, of course they use her to promote the show and make us want to watch it again..Geez, give Shonda a break, she is just doing her job. I want to know, but don't want to know. I think it will be Izzie/Alex who take over Mer/Der's wedding, but we'll have to wait and see....I really don't like the idea of something screwing up Mer/Der's wedding, we already saw Cristina left at the altar, but maybe it will all make sense in the end.

I am just tired of the going back and forth. MerDer ARE getting married/MerDer aren't getting married. It toys with ones emotions...especially the emotions of a die hard MerDer fan. I would LOVE to see Derek and Meredith get married on May 7th, but realistically, it is pretty quick considering that they just got engaged. But because it is the 100th episode, I think that one of the original cast (from season 1) should get married. Not Lexie (who came in season 4) and Mark (Season 3), because they have not been around for the whole duration of the show. That's just my thoughts on it.
Lets hope that Shonda is just messing with us and the MerDer MARRIAGE on May 7th will be a pleasant surprize....crossing fingers and toes now.

Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to see it be Mer/Der, but I bet it won't be. I think they will save that for the season finale or maybe even next season opener. I think I may try to stay away from the spoilers after all for the next few weeks. I didn't think I would be able to, but they kind of drive me nuts, especially when we have to wait so long for the next episode, let alone for the May 7th episode! I mean the 100th episode is 5 weeks away, I can't be going crazy for 5 weeks. I am going back to my season 1 disc and reimmersing in old episodes for a while. I am up to episode 6 so far this time. It helps pass the time.

I think it would make the most sense for meredith and derek to get married, since theyre the only couple thats engaged. And I just really want it to be theirs because i LOVE merder :)

But I have a feeling they'll get married in the hospital or something, to get Izzie involved, because isnt she going to try to plan their wedding? and she wont be able to go to it anyways

and the 100th episode and the 101st could be on the same day, so the 100th episode could really be on their wedding day, but maybe on the morning so theyre not getting married in that episode maybe the next one?

I don't want to know...i like surprises lol. Even though this is killing me! I am sure that they will work it out prefectly and we all love whatever happens!! This season is getting better and better!! Can't wait to find out!
