lovesgreys: very smart thinking. We know that this is just wordplay, I mean Shonda says it's going to be their wedding DAY, Ellen says there's a SETTING for the WEDDING, so they are all just playing with us, and making the waiting a lot harder. But for me the theory that the wedding is actually going to be in the season finale (it's after A Beautiful Day, right?) is pretty good. I just hope it's not a dream, like some think, due to the analogy with "Dream a Little Dream of Me". I really want MerDer to be together, get married and have a Mcbaby.
My friends started thinking that I went all crazy about Grey's Anatomy. lol I'm becoming really addicted, and this waiting is killnig me!!

hahah i know, im dying. ive been thinking way too much about it. im going to watch the first episodes of this season though to see how the premiere could relate to the finale, since shonda likes symmetry. and maybe something will happen with thatcher to postpone the wedding or something, i heard hes coming back and since theres only a few episodes of the season left idk. ah i cant believe we still have like two more weeks! i dont know what im going to do when the seasons over, this is the first time im going to have to wait for a new season cause i started watching it on tv during the fifth season and i watched the rest online, so ive never had to wait before! and april 23rd is during my april vacation, so after the episode plays ill definately be on this site all night :p

The waiting is the hardest part - especially between seasons :(
I think it will be on their wedding day, but something will go wrong - aka. Izzie or something along those lines, and Mer and Der will postpone it together (unlike Burke and Christina.) But something like a union will occur between them in the season final.
All this waiting is tearing me up inside

Yeah, they just said that they both want to spend the rest of lives with each other. Given how the show has developed their relationship, with them getting together and something ripping them apart, they won't get married. I would love to see that, the characters deserve it, but that's not the history of the show. I hate to be pessimistic here, but they won't get married. Just as the Christa and Burke wedding didn't happen (because he was thrown off the show), their wedding won't happen. Perhaps they will give another couple use the opportunity. Hopefully, it will happen next season.

lovesgreys: I also started watching season 5 online, and I never before had to wait for the next season. I was watching episodes on TV, but in my country those were season 3 episodes, and about a month ago, we finished season 4. I started watching online from All By Myself, and I watched previous epis that I haven't seen on the net. I became addicted when one night I cought on Grey's (on TV) and it was second episode from three episodes arc, when Meredith almost drowned. So, because she is my favorite character, I surfed the net, and then I watched that episode where she lives about 10 times!!! That's the story how I became totally addicted to Grey's.
And I really hope that there'll be MerDer wedding this season. I think I'm not gonna survive if Shonda leaves a cliffhanger about the wedding, but I so think that she is going to do something like that.

I agree with roobelle - I think the proposal is the 'union' Patrick D spoke about last month. I think with Izzie throwing so much into their wedding that it's somehow agreed with them and Alex that she should be the one to be married using the things (flowers, dress etc) that she has organised. Their wedding day will become Izzie and Alex' - that's my bet. I don't think it will mean that MerDer break up, I just think we won't see their wedding this season..
