Hey Pink Mist, did you like the flash backs at the start of season 3 ??? Because, I was thinking another set of "flash backs" to the first time MerDer met might be interesting as their relationship unfolds to us through the rest of season 3. Hey whats going on ausfan? I did actually like the flashbacks at the start of season 3, it has been a while since I have seen them so I had to refresh my memory. I think the flashback to where Mer/Der met was really cute, kind of awkward, but perfect. I thought it could have been a better red shirt though..lol...Shonda Rhimes has a lot of foreshadowing in her writing, so thats been fun to follow.Posted 4/14/2007 1:00:00 AM #

So, Pink Mist you found something about the red shirt,well here the red shirt was actually brown at the start of episode 1 of season 1 but referred to as red and then red in the first episode of season 3. Maybe its the way we transmit down here! Also, Derek said he can often tell what's going to happen next but it's mostly in the OR ,when he was explaining how he found Mcsteamy in his bedroom to Meredith. So I thought more of this might happen, you know how he seemed to know Mer was going to "drown". I know I'm being picky but he also said he never danced in public when he said his favourite icecream was coffee but had no problems asking Addison to dance at the "prom" and you'd think she would know her husband of many years didn't dance in public but she didn't comment.You've probably discussed these inconsistences before but I'm new to this so apologies if I'm being repetitive. You are so right - it could have been a much better looking red-good-looking-shirt. And I just hated the flashbacks of 3.1. There was no chemistry at all between Derek and Meredith -it was plain, without energy, without her just falling for McDreamy. Even though he was just one of her many onenightstands at that time, I would have wanted a little more vibration between them right from the start. And I added the "not dancing in public" line to my thread on Site Suggestions about mistakes or errors in episodes just a few days ago... Where did you get that "I came here to be chief..." quote? It is true he came to Seattle to be in the competion with Burke for becoming chief after Richard retires, maybe he just refers to that, you know it is like you come for something and stay for something else. So he stays because of Meredith, and he came there because he wanted to be chief but doesn't. On the other hand it is Meredith's turn to suport him. He has always been more supportive towards her than she has been to him. Well, I'm looking forward to find out more.
