I can't believe I missed this thread! I'm a big MerDer fan (well obviously-my nickname). They're one of the best tv couples ever! MerDer is one of the main reasons I love Grey's Anatomy. They have everything- amazing chemistry, understanding relatioship, they've been through hell together (return of Addie, the McPlant....) And they are still together, happilly married.
My favorite merder moments... well there are so many of them. @greysanatomyismylife mentioned a lot of them, I want to add:
when they first met at the bar
pick me choose me love me scene
when Derek showed Mer his trailer for the first time
I want your crappy babies scene
breakup kiss, breakup sex scene
kidney in a jar
"I'll sit by her head, I won't say a word", S6 when Mer had a surgery
I probably forgot something, but these are my favorites...
And I also love that 5x17 scene. Even though Derek was such a jerk then, it showed us how much Mer has grown since S1.
