I did come across 1 person that was interested in some sort of a convention. Maybe the word convention really came on tooo strongly. What about more of a fun filled crazy weekend full of die hard Grey's Anatomy fans getting together hanging out just being free to be Grey's Anatomy fans? I don't know about anyone else but I don't have anyone in my life that is a big fan like myself or anyone I have met on this site. I just think it would be a blast to get together watch the season's, maybe have a costume like party..like a Grey's Anatomy prom...and just hang out with people that are just as into Grey's Anatomy as myself and all of you.Posted 2/12/2007 1:00:00 AM #

That is soooo awesome! I am going to start looking into more details on hotel info and just general info about possibly a location. I know this wouldn't happen til over the summer like maybe July or August (We will all be feeling a lil Grey's Anayomyless by then with the summer hiatus)but I am a planner and all about details...I am sooo excited this might actually happen. I think you could put together a convention pretty easily. Rename it, of course, to imply something more fun ... like a GA Celebration Weekend or something. Convention implies star appearances, which may be a goal for next year but you may not be able to pull off without more coordination and funds. Get a schedule together doing some GA activities like taking the ferry, going to the neighborhood where Mer's house is, going up in the Space Needle, call the local NBC folks that have the building that doubles as Seattle Grace and see if they will let you guys go up on the roof where the helicopters land or something. It does not have to be super complicated, or expensive. Have one night where you have dinner somewhere GA-ish, all other meals people can do on their own, that will make it easier for you to plan. Leave enough time in the schedule for people to do some fun Seattle activities too ... the Rock & Roll deal is right there, along with the SciFi museaum and a bunch of other stuff. There is reliable public transportation downtown so you can get that done pretty easily - - just include routes, costs and estimate with the packet of info you leave for people to pick up when they check into the hotel and trust them to figure out the rest.Posted 2/13/2007 1:00:00 AM #

That is really funny you say all that...I have it all written down...this is what I am thinking... Friday night- Everyone gets in town(Seattle)and have some sort of meet and greet and just a night to get to know each other, hang out, go out, whatever...Maybe throw on season 1 and see where the night goes. Saturday- DAY Do some site seeing, Take a ferry ride (I too have a thing for ferry boats), Visit some locations where GA was filmed, Space needle...etc Sat- night Have a Grey's Anatomy prom-esk. Have sections up where people can display their art, music, merchandise ya know whatever. Have a Grey's Anatomy Jeopardy game and the winner would win a tshirt or something. Have a "friendly" competition between MerDer VS. BANG fans...and of course people could dress up as their favorite character, dress up in prom gear, or just wear scrubs! Sunday- Normally check out times are pretty early but we could go have brunch, see some more sites, and network with each other to see how it could be better.Posted 2/13/2007 1:00:00 AM #
