Grey's to end with Season 7?

From what I have heard the actors say, they are all under a 7 year contract.  But to me that doesn't mean the show will end at 7 years.  It seems that lately when Patrick has been asked (since there has been so much talk about TR and KH) Patrick says that he will work though the remaining 2 years on his contract and after that we'll see.  That makes me think that as long as the show continues, he probably will stay.  I think if Patrick stays so will Ellen.  Patrick has always said as long as he has good storylines he would stay.  Lets hope that the writers continue to write well and the ratings continue to stay up and Grey's will be around for several more years. Patrick also says that by working with Grey's this allows him to have the money to continue to race.  With all of my thoughts here, I really don't think the writers are thinking of an end to this show at this point!  Lets hope not!

I agree. This is the only show that I watch! I love Greys, After watching every episode of every season, they're like friends (not to sound like i have no life...lol). The only time of the week I sit down to watch tv is Thursday nights!!! It can't end...EVER ;)

Shonda Rimes said in an interview one time that she would stay with Grey's Anatomy as long as ABC stayed with it.  I know that the contracts for the main characters are through 7 seasons, but hopefully they will renew!  ER changed cast around a lot over the years and still stayed popular (I stopped watching it years ago though).  Maybe if some people opt out, they will be replaced and continue on until the show isn't getting viewer's anymore.  For me, it would be a sad Grey's without most of the mains though.  Patrick Dempsey, Ellen Pompeo, Sandra Oh, Chandra Wilson, Katie Heigl, TR Knight, Justin Chambers, etc all bring something special to the show that would really be missed.  I think I couldn't watch without McDreamy and Meredith though, and would REALLY miss Cristina if Sandra Oh left.  Sandra Oh and the character of Cristina are awesome!

Ok, first to the person who said that the Chief said 7 years is the training for completing a residency, so it should be 7 seasons.

Well, if you think like this, it should be 20 seasons, because for these 5 seasons, on the show actually passed only one and a half year.

And, second, for all the rumors. All the actors are signed on for 7 season (leading actors, except T.R.Knight, who was released from his contract). But, they can always renew their contracts, if Shonda still has the ideas for writing (and I'm sure she'll have them), and as long as ABC approves, in other words, as long as the audince is sticking with the show.

I adore Grey's, but I know that all the good things have an end. But, I have to say that I'm really grateful to this show, for everything it gave me, for all the joy and happiness. And when it ends, well, I'll always have it recorded, and I'll have nice memories to hang on to.

So, one big THANK YOU to Grey's Anatomy!!!

    P.S. Chyler Pompeo? Seriosly? SERIOSLY?

I really don't want GA gets over!! Although i think it's best that they give us a real, great end than then GA become a piece of crap.. you all know that might happen..

Do remember Friends? I thought that it shouldn't have ended so rapidly.. but then, i got it.. if they continued with the series, might turn a silly thing.. :S

But.. Everything has an end.. and i will miss GA a lot, too..Cry

Well if you remember wayyyyy back to season 1 episode 1. Cheif saying that you will spend the next 7 years of your life here. So you just gotta assume that things will end after season 7?

Has anybody else been watching reruns on lifetime? Like when I rewatch it I'm seeing things that I missed the first time and now it's all starting to click together.

I heard (I can't remember where) that the reason they are merging Seattle Grace and Mercy West on the show is to help facilitate the show going past 7 seasons. That way it adds a ton more story possibilities. I heard they maybe wanted to extend it out like ER style...many many more seasons. We can hope!!!!!!

Oh. And come on people, seriously. The OP Obviously meant Chyler Leigh, who plays Lexie.  Wink

Chyler Pompeo? It's either Chyler Leigh, or Ellen Pompeo.

Anyway, I'm going to seriously lose it without Grey's. I swear, I'll be bawling.
