"Stand By Me" (3/19) is the episode following "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" (3/12)
After his fellow surgeons try and fail to bring Derek back to work, Meredith must summon the strength to convince him. Meanwhile the hospital is abuzz as Mark attempts a rare face transplant surgery, Cristina, at last awarded her first solo surgery, is more focused on the needs of her friends, and Izzie does her best to keep her medical condition a secret.

so Derek really quits in 5.17? and they "fail" to bring him back?

Wow, that is very intereting so Izzie will still keep her medical condition a secrete. that sucks but the part with Derek I think is going to be very interesting

4ever_merder-- I think Der is going to quit in 5/17 on 3/12-- "I will Follow you into the Dark".
Probably will take a bit to get him to come back-- I think it will take finding out about Izzie and needing to help Izzie to get him to go back.

Here my whole thing with it Izzie being the reason Derek returns....alright there has been this whole rumor thing about how KH is going to leave the show and everything which would mean they would have to kill her off the show (probably) right?? So if Derek is quitting because he has lost more patients than saved, why would they (writers) have him work on Izzie just for her to die?? He would never forgive himself...ever.....

derek is a strong guy! its so sad that hes falling apart but meredith will be there for him.
