Is it just me or had this season and the previous season been more about Callie and her life with Arizona, Mark, Teddy and the rest then Meredith and Derek's life??? We barely get to see Meredith and Derek anymore!!!!!!

I kinda think that they writers are beginning to try and see what the show would be like if/when Ellen and Patrick leave the show. It has been hinted at that Ellen and Patrick will be leaving the show after season 8, there is no truth to that as I know of. So, my theory is that the writers are kinda of toying with how the story lines would function if we no longer had Meredith and Derek. I think that as of right now Callie, Mark, and Arizona would take more of the lead of the show if Meredith and Derek were to leave, so the writers are wanting to see how the audience reacts to the idea of these other, more background characters, taking more a star position in the show.

I guess that makes sense...But to be honest....I'd rather they end the series before seeing Meredith and Derek leave. If the want to carry on then do another Private Practice like show. I mean do a show where Callie and Arizona and Mark are....but don't continue Grey's Anatomy without Meredith and Derek...

I agree the show should end when EP and PD and probably Sandra Oh, leave and then do a spin off with Callie, Mark, Arizona, Teddy and not call it Grey's anatomy, but something else.

i agree that this season seems to focus more one callie but i dont think last season really did at all. i mean yeah there was the whole i want a baby drama/calzona breakup but that wasnt a major part of the season. i really dont get why people are bugging over calzona getting a lot of the screentime. i mean they are the main storyline right now....earlier in the season it was mainly about cristina's ptsd. the end of season five focused a lot on izzie and her cancer. its just a storyline ppl, and when its over, its over. there will be a new storyline with new characters getting a lot of screentime. (personally id love to see more merder, but you cant always get what you want)

i aggree with the above comment. i think that callie and arizona are getting alot of screen time bu ti love personally love callies character so i would like to see where ths story line is going. also i do not know how much i would agreee with the splitting off of the characters. i think that they are too intertwinedin the cast now and i feel as if callie and arizona (unfortunately) do not have the popularity that katewalsh/addison shepard had since the first season. when she left, she left for a good founded reason at least chracter wise even thoough at the time i did hate to see her go. But i do not know if calllie and arizona have strong and popular characters as addison was so i do not know how well a split off would turn out. i like the characeters where they are for now i  do not think that it would be profitable for anyone split up right now

I'm not saying that there shouldn't be other mayor storylines only MerDer ones. I like the other mayor storylines.....but I just don't think that they should "give up on" MerDer. We barelly get to see 5 minutes of MerDer screentime. I think there should be a little more MerDer screentime.

Also there should be more Mcsteamy and Mcdreamy scenes together!!!!! They are classic Grey's scenes!!!!

I just think that since George and Izzie left the show hasn't been what it was...

I've been feeling that way too. I have no problem with Callie, she's an interesting character but I miss Meredith. I feel like she's gotten a bit lost as of late. Watching the earlier series makes me sad, because Meredith, and her relationship with Derek, were so much better. I'm not horrified or outraged - it must be difficult to keep a show as entertaining as Grey's for 7 whole seasons, but I hope they get Meredith back on track soon. I love MerDer but if they can't do much with that anymore (since the fact that they're happily married makes for little relationship drama) then do something for Meredith as a character. I can't help but notice that we've had no mention of what Mer's specialty will be. Grey's being a medical show, that's not good. They need to give Meredith some spark back or it might as well be Torres' Anatomy. Still, things might pick up on the MerDer front soon -

Anyone else think that what's going to happen to Callie with the car accident should be something that should happen to Meredith??

No I don't think that what going to happen to Callie with the car accident should be something that should happen to Meredith, because Meredith already had two near death experience, the bomb in S2 and the drowning in S3. I think it would be too much if Meredith is involve in a car accident too. It would be a case how many time can someone be near death and not died.

Callie being involve in a car accident, is a case of it was time for Callie to have her near death experience. After most characte on this show had been a patient in the hospital once or twice. Mer in S3 twice, S6 once, S2 almost became a patient because of the bomb. Cris is S2 when she had the miscarriage, Alex in S6, Izzie in S5, Derek in S6, Richard in S2, George in S5, Bailey in S2 when she gave birth. So Callie in now going to become a patient because is her turn to be patient.

Grey's Anatomy Quotes

Did you say it? 'I love you. I don't ever want to live without you. You changed my life.' Did you say it? Make a plan. Set a goal. Work toward it, but every now and then, look around; Drink it in 'cause this is it. It might all be gone tomorrow."

Meredith (closing voiceover)

There's a reason I said I'd be happy alone. It wasn't 'cause I thought I'd be happy alone. It was because I thought if I loved someone and then it fell apart, I might not make it. It's easier to be alone, because what if you learn that you need love and you don't have it? What if you like it and lean on it? What if you shape your life around it and then it falls apart? Can you even survive that kind of pain? Losing love is like organ damage. It's like dying. The only difference is death ends. This? It could go on forever.
