the thing which does my head in the most is any promo's or future clips always tease us with the possibility of peter being restored to 'powerful peter'.
if they're not gonna make him powerful again, tells us.

It wouldn't surprise me if they left season 4 with Peter regaining the ability to use multiple powers. Peter is made to be the leading hero at the moment he is pretty much not being used that well at all. I think the writers had the stupid idea that Peter could be a hero without powers was something viewers might respect but its a show about heroes, what else do fans want than to see characters like Peter be honorable and noble but be a powerful hero, perhaps even taking a leadership type role for the good guys.

Im just throwing this out there, its probably already been mentioned before, but It seems the writers wanted to give some sort of restriction to Peter because having all his original abilities and the power to collect as many as he goes along would have made him a GOD instantly. But I think the show screwed him by taking him away and just allowing him to collect one at a time.
Here are a few ways the writers can still keep a restriction on Peter where he still remains a worthy adversary to Sylar
1) Let him acquire abilities through touch. We have seen him take a power to override an existing power he acquired. Let him hold more as he goes along absorbing other heroes abilities. Let him choose to absorb or not so thats a restriction with in itself.
2) Let him have his original ability of enpathy which allows him to absorb a heroes ability when they are in close proximity of him, but only allow him to use the abilities whilst the person he absorbed from is there. Ex. Claire and Him in a room, original empath absorbs her ability because she is in his proximity. While she is there he can heal, when she isnt he cant.

Oh I forgot to mention that Sylar is Pathethic. Seeing PEter beat his ass with the Haitians ability to stop his.......PRICELESS!!!!

can't he just take hiros ability and travel back in the future and just touch his self? (that sounded a bit funny...!) but you know what i mean!

Yes he could. He could also touch Sylar since Sylar can do what he did now. But the writers prefer outrageous stories to more obvious ones.
I agree with Maj on the first option, but he also had restrictions to begin with. Absorbing too many powers nearly killed him. Maybe if he could choose to use his original power instead of doing it spontaneously, that would have been better. After all, he started off with Maj's second option- only using powers when people are around him, and then he learned to develop it, and then it would only be a matter of time before he learned how to control the absorbtion process. After all, empath Peter taking on the carnival or Pinehearst would have killed him because of too many powers being near him. So controlling that would have kept the same Peter but also added to character development- another example of where the writers shrugged off character development.

Thanks Ranvenhill, thinking it over option #1 would be more remotely logical to happen which I believe would agree with the crowd to work. I wish PEter couldve just touched Baby parkman at the end of the Villains arc because snap it worked for Hiro...If only Peter you didnt get desperate and impulsive during the explosion and injected the dumb ass serum.

It did work for Hiro, but by the end of S3 Peter had already taken the formula.
Nobody really knows what the effect would be if Ando/Matt used their power on him.Im under the impression that the writers don't want to re-introduce any power enhancement for Peter until he's at a point where it's either manifest or die.
I'l be very suprised if he doesn't get his power back before this carni battle. If he doesn't get it back by then I have to just assume that he won't get it back at all.

Come on guys!! Of course peter will get his empathtic mimicry back. It will be different from before. Peter and Sylar have had WAY too much non hostile interaction for him not to at least get sylars ability. My guess is that with this team up they are having that peter is gonna help sylar get what he wants. I am guessing that peter will show sylar that he is more than just his abilities, this will lead up to peter either manifesting his powers or taking sylars. Either way the writers cant really expect peter and sylar to go to the carnival to save everyone and sylar doing all the work. We will see the original peter very soon, more than likely before the season ender. I know it.

i think its now or never! peter is in matts apartement and baby matt parkman (which i have a strong feeling he will give peters old powers back) is there!! i think its time...
