Haitian Confusion
-
Ok, I'll admit, I have read the recap only and have yet to see the episode, but I can't help but wonder how Peter takes the Haitian's power. Isn't part of the Haitian's power making other powers not work around him? So Peter wouldn't be able to use his power to take the Haitian's power because it wouldn't work, right? Or are we supposed to just assume that the Haitian can pick and choose whose power he nullifies?

I think we are supposed to assume.
What I want to know is, how did Peter find controlling all of Sylars abilities so easy? Back when the Haitan was trying to stop Arthur Petrelli he was really struggling to keep him under control because of his immense power. Surely Sylar is even more powerful than that?

It could be that Sylar is feeling a little weak/tired after all of the Nathan/Sylar struggles lately. He hasn't really been himself lately...

i think Arthur had many more powers than Sylar, plus Nathan was inside Sylar kind of helping Peter, right??

Well here is a thought, what if peter empath ability enables him to have better control of a power now? that would explain how he was able to beat edgar in this seasons first episode, and would also explain how he could hold sylar back with the hatians ability

Heres something- Arthur took Peters sponge power. He didn't have to steal powers in order to have them anymore. Maybe he gained Haitian powers and used them to counter the original Haitian power. Thats why the Haitian struggled.
If you don't like that idea, heres another- The Haitian held Arthur in check for a while before he started to lose his grip. Arthur must have been concentrating immensely to break down the Haitians power. Sylar had no time to concentrate because he was getting physically attacked, whereas Arthur wasn't.

Two excellent ideas Ravenhill :-) I prefer the first one.
