Peter Power Evolution
-
My theory is that Peter now has the same power as his father, Arthur Petrelli. Unlike his father, though, he does not have the same level of control, so he cannot hold onto multiple powers and does not strip someone of their power when he touches them.
My hope is that Peter will at some point in time hold onto someone and absorb their powers permanently, and as a consequence he will permanently have their power, just as his father had done.

Did they ever fully elaborate on Arthur's powers? I mean was he capable of taking people's powers, without fully neutering them so to speak?

That would be way better than what he's got now. I can't stand how much of a bitch Peter has become.

I think Peter will have Arthur's powers, and Claude will teach him like he did before - didn't we hear Claude is coming back?
Everything about Arthur was so vague and undefined to begin with, so they could just avoid the whole "neutering" sitch I think.

i dont think peter'spower will evolve. it will and should stay as it is. no need for an all powerful character like peter. i like him better now, he can have whatever power he wants at any one time. thats cool.

Kring mentionned that Peter's new romance with Emma (the hearing impaired woman) will help Peter “find out that life means staying connected to others”.
If anything, Peter could learn how to again tap into multiple abilities using his empathy. Assuming he could tap into every abilities he copied since Arthur stripped him, he could then have Superstrength, Freezing, Telepathy, Flight and Shapeshifting. We also saw him use Superspeed in a preview so we could add that to the list.
Maybe Peter's ability evolution could consist of allowing him to use/hold several abilities again, but having to actually have physical contact to copy them instead of just absorbing everything by beeing in specials presence.

Here's the thing,
Tim Kring said peter's power is connected to his heart.
He took his powers back unwillingly. He hated himself for it (although i think nathan could ahve flown himself he didnt have to take them back)
He developed an ability that couldnt retain peoples abilities because he wasnt able to make the same connection.
Here's my point mom, sort of nathan and peter are together again. In that trailor plus the press i have head of peter and seen him use at least four powers
-Shapeshifitng
-Superspeed
-Mohinders abilitis
-Emma's ability
If this is true and the show is focusing on one charachter per episode peter has his powers back. However, now he has control if he has that power in season one he never takes teds.

How do you guys think would Peter's character evolve when he finds out that "Nathan" is dead and Nathan now is actually Sylar by soul? How would that affect his empathic powers?Posted 8/9/2009 9:01:21 PM #

Pete is not a supper guy with little capability of controlling and mastering his power.Too sensitve characteristic made him too weak to hold a power.

I dont know what to think regarding peter's power at the moment. I think i'm happy just to see where they take it.
there are a few possibilities...
1. his power is like arthur's, just not developed yet.
2. He has a similar strand of power as last time, except that this time he needs to touch the other person. this hasnt developed yet as he is unable to connect fully.
3. his power is just as it was in the last season
I myself hope it is the second one. but can also see the benefit of the third, as it allows for a series of possible endings, such as last season and it allows other characters to have more of a part.
well, not bad for someone who doesn't know what to think

Sylar: I can't bring Nathan back Peter, but I can sure as Hell swing a sledgehammer.
