plots for season 5
Sorry to start another topic like this, but the other one is quite long now so I thought it prudent to start afresh.
The reaction of the world to the revelation that there are indeed people with special powers is mixed. Some are envious, others are fearful. The old company, headed by Angela, redevelops and approaches the US Government and the European Commission in a bid to form a confederation to develop relations between the two races. Tracy is the political ‘face’ acting as a relations chief.
However, there is a European fraction of people with powers, seriously pissed that their existence has been exposed. Their head is a woman who has the power of persuasion. She is also a political player at the European level, and opposes and counters moves made by Tracy to develop peaceful negotiations.
OUR HEROES INDIVIDUAL STORIES
So, the new season kicks off with the assassination of CLAIRE. No one knows who the assassin is, but the motive is clear: she revealed specials to the world. Whoever killed Claire knew of her ‘sweet-spot’ and this is the starting point for HRG in his pursuit of her killer.
HRG moves into isolation as part of his pursuit, unable to trust anyone, he alienates all his old allies.
PETER struggles to regain control of his former life. He attempts to return to his paramedic job, but people soon realise he has powers. Old friends are mistrustful and outright discriminatory. He loses his temper and uses telekinesis in the heat of the moment, resulting in another paramedic cutting himself. This is blown out of proportion, so PETER leaves his job.
PETER hears of CLAIRE’S death and tries to help HRG. Distrustful HRG spurns his help. PETER then travels to see GABRIEL (SYLAR). After realising that the remaining members of the carnival are despondent and leaderless they decide to help them. They travel to Europe to meet up with the carnival, but are intercepted by a woman and her ‘company’ who have an interesting proposition for the two men.
PARKMAN cannot believe CLAIRE has revealed to the world the reality of ‘specials’. He takes his family to India to stay with MOHINDER and MOLLY. However, he is soon approached by HIRO and ANDO who have a plan to restore the secrecy of people with powers.
MICAH, lost and feeling without a purpose, tries to approach TRACY offering help in the plan to bring a peaceful existence between the two races. TRACY takes him onboard, but MICAH soon discovers all is not as it seems with the emergence of the persuasive European woman.
SYLAR and PETER have a parting of the ways. SYLAR wants to help the Europeans with their plans for power-they can offer him much more than anyone else. PETER recognises the rise of another super-villain in the persuasive woman. The Europeans plan an attack to shake the world and truly divide the planet and the races.
PETER dreams of finding someone who can help restore his original ability. Faced with the truth that without his original ability mankind will never recover from the European’s attack-he sets of to find this person......ADAM MONROE
PETER finds ADAM MONROE in Japan (after taking HIRO’S power) in 1709. They time travel to just before ARTHUR takes ADAM’s power (thus killing him).
ADAM tells PETER that PETER will need a shapeshifting power. PETER goes to see a younger HRG, who tells PETER of a person with shapeshifting power. PETER gets this power and goes back to ADAM, who unbeknown to PETER has found another person with the regenerative power.
ADAM tells PETER to shapeshift this new person into the appearance of ADAM, and then sends the ‘new ADAM’ into ARTHUR....the real ADAM MONROE lives on, and the timeline is not distorted.
PETER and ADAM then find HIRO and travel back to normal time. They go to see an ancient Chinaman with the power of being able to restore powers. PETER gets his power restored and is ready to fight the Europeans.

I like all but the part where Adam doesnt die. He kinda has to inorder to not jack up the space time continuum. I like the idea of Peter time traveling to reaquire abilites from people that are dead now, back when they were alive. If he had Mollys ability and Hiro's, he could find anyone, anywhere, anywhen and get their ability. And yeah, kill the cheerleader save the show. Take her out, and I dont mean on a date.Posted 3/2/2010 5:09:54 AM #
why cant peter time travel and accidently bump into himself and copy his old power that way adam is left alone and the plot doesnt have to be complicatedPosted 3/2/2010 12:13:14 PM #
Here's a thought for S5 that takes the show truly back to its roots.
Back in S1, Primatech was rounding up people with abilities, tagging them, observing them, wiping their memories and then releasing them -- ostensibly keeping tabs on them through the tags each of them got. It is conceivable that this database still exists. We know it exists in hardcopy, as HRG had some files, and Samuel stole them. This would be valuable info, especially in the wrong hands. Samuel didn't use it effectively, but somebody else could.
One of the story threads would be a serial killer -- with all the victims having one thing in common: special abilities. The police would be unable to make this connection, but HRG and/or Angela would. We would have no idea who the killer is -- a silent, unknown stalker using The Company's files against it. Yes, we saw this with Sylar in S1 and even with Adam in S2, but that was good television. remember the mystery and intrigue in S2 when all the fans were posting theories on who was killing off the original members of The Company? A good argument could be made that the Sylar character was at its best before Zachary Quinto was put in the role. Nothing against Quinto as he is a great actor, but the character worked best when he was a man wearing a hat standing in the shaodws.
Another thread would have the characters trying to deal with Claire's public revalation. Some will try to hide their abilities to avoid the scutiny that would certainly follow -- I'm thinking Parkman here. Others, new characters inclined to use their powers for their own gain, figure to take advantage of what they can do and wreak havoc. This forces our main characters — Peter, Hiro, Ando, Claire (trying to atone for her mistakes -- again) and, yes, even Sylar — to work together to try and restore some order to a world suddenly gone insane. This would be a good time to bring back some old favourites like Micah and Molly.
I know parts of this are repetitive -- particularly the serial killer storyline where people with abilities are targets -- but I have come to the conclusion that where the show has fallen short in the last few seasons is the lack of intrigue and mystery. It has to get that back.Posted 3/2/2010 3:07:15 PM #
I like that too but its the kind of story that could be written very badly in the wrong hands. and lets face it, the show is in the wrong hands.Posted 3/3/2010 8:31:44 AM #
The show should be in our hands...Heres looking at you NBC, why dont you hire us...we can put this show back to where it needs to be.Posted 3/5/2010 4:24:29 PM #
I have an idea it might be a little far fetched, but I think it could work. But this is a way to undue some of the mistakes they made in the previous seasons. We all saw that Syler has a son in the future. Syler finds out from a dream that Angela has that his unborn son is the key to saving the world in the future. But there's only one problem the mother is dead and they have to figure out a way to go back into the past and save Elle bishop from being killed by Syler. Elle make's sense to be the mother Syler had sex with her. Peter and Syler go back in time to figure out away to save Elle. But they're consequence's to there actions. When they go back in time they find that Pinehurst is still up and running and lead by Arthur and Nathan. Now this will take bringing characters back that got killed off. But I think Arthur would be the ruthless villain that this show needs and Syler could be a good guy in a bad ass sought of way. And you would have a family that's divided against each other! Then the whole focus will be protecting Elle. The bad guys would want the child never to be born, because they like the future they’re going to have. Which will be a world run by people with Abilities and people without will be force to work and be slaves. And the Irony would be that two people that were lost in life had a child together that would save the world.Let me know what you thinkP.S.Be nice lolPosted 3/29/2010 11:05:07 AM #
Also as they go back into the present after saving elle. They also discover that Peter and Syler are working for Pinehurst. They discover that there playing along with working for Pinehurst to take it down from the inside. Because Arthur and Nathans company is to powerful to try to take it down with a straight up fight. Hiro, Ando and Claire lead and underground army to fight along side Peter, Elle and Syler.Posted 3/29/2010 1:41:47 PM #
