What did everyone think of this episode?
Another winner. Samuel is the best character added to this show since S1, by far. The interaction between Matt and Sylar was excellent. Grunberg and Quinto have good chemistry on screen. The end of their scenes together, with Matt talking as Sylar, was very good. And Sylar trying to interject when Matt was explaining things to Janice -- priceless. I loved his quip about not putting labels on people when Matt called him a murderer.
It will be interesting to see how the events in Cainan affect HRG. Loved Samuel's revenge. His chat with Tracey was well done too. Looks like she is going to drink the Carnie Kool-Aid.
I can do without the sexual tension between Gretchen and Claire, but I can see the Haitian getting called in to fix the revelation. I see Samuel getting pissed at the invisible girl. It will be interesting to see what he does as means on revenge on people of is own kind.
Can't wait for next week. The return of Charlie, nice scene in the trailer with Sylar and Hiro squaring off in an alley, old west style.
What's actually happened this season? It was set up so nicely with the carnival storyline... but the season is almost halfway over now. Has any overall storyline been formed?
i LOVE Samuel, too, but he keeps just popping up every now and then without actually doing anything. This is almost like Mad Men, with very, very slow developments, but that's never been the strength of Heroes. I hope it eventually pays off, as Mad Men did this week with an AMAZING episode, but does anyone else feel like the show is spinning its wheels each week and, when all is said and done, nothing is accomplished?
Super pissed that they killed that jeremy kid! i was loving him! And he's hot!
That was the only problem with today's episode!
This episode was really good. For Once I was actually really impressed with Claire. The way she took on the kidnappers in her dorm and then her little fight with the invisible girl totally showed me her confidence and maturity. Samuel is just amazing, but they really need to reveal the true plot now, something big, dark, mysterious (and not something like giving powers to the Army, dumb ass Arthur Petrelli) I dont know why I am starting to laugh now about the heroes joining the carnival, its like our heroes have like established jobs and lives and then get an offer from the carnival and get tempted..lol....Hi im a politician executive let me join your Carnival and become a carny...does anybody find that funny..lol. Anywayz, I really felt bad about the kid healer, talk about police brutality. I wish they wouldve kept him in the show for a while or had him atleast join the carnival where he shouldve belonged. HRG and Tracy were disappointing to me this episode. The man with the plan couldnt deal with Redneck cops? Come on HRG you got the hatian up your sleeve, why are you tolerating their bullshit...and Tracy...Freeze these assholes...go back to your killing from the first episode atleast you had a interesting story line then. Great twist on Matts body with Sylar taking over. There definitly a lot more Sylar this season. Hes good but hes getting boring to. Samuel destroying the police station absolutely fantastic.
Sylar joke about Mohinder and his father - Priceless
yeah the mohinder and his father joke by sylar was pretty funny and Samuel at the end was awesome. I think the writiers are smart by not letting us know Samuels plan yet because then we would either stay or go based on if we liked it. Remember in season 1 we didn't find out that they had to save New York City until atleast 60% through the season
I suppose your right Nick. It wouldnt be right to find out about a surprise party before the surprise. MAn I hope that when the grand scheme is revealed that its a shocker that hits us so hard that NOONE can say Heroes sucks.
I like how they are gradaully and slowly building to whatever Samuel's endgame is. It has made him a more intriguing character, and at the same time has allowed other story lines to develop as well. It's obvious Samuel has a hate on for people without abilities -- finding out what he is going to do about it if what keeps us going back week after week. And no doubt, the character can sell a bill of goods. His little speech to Tracey was amazing. And remember him talking up Hiro and convicing him to go back and change little things in the past. I'm very much looking forward to their interaction next week. When I read a book, I don't want the climax in the first chapter. I want the events of the book to build to something memorable. I'm hoping beyond hope that is exactly what is going to happen with this season. It is going in that direction so far, and hope they don;t let us down with a lame ending. It has the potential to be awesome.
I haven't seen this new episode yet. I was too busy last night watching the Redskins lose their dignity to the Eagles, but I'm at work and will be watching quite soon whenever my boss leaves. As for my speculations about the Carnies, it really looks like Samuel is building an army and HRG will be organizing a new company to fight them. I hope it's more complicated than that, but it might not be.
Hmm interesting thought Pyropuppy...you just made me think of a NEW FORUM to write...YES!! Look for it...called Samuels Master Plan!!!!
