I never thought of fairies as being dark but it has to be them.

I think the fairies you're thinking of originated in the Victorian Age. These are not the true fey, or fairies . The original fairies were tall and powerful. If you look at the legends around Bru na Boinne you'll see they were the megalith builders known as the Tuatha de Danann. These were the nobility of the fairy and they were necromancers, skilled phycisians, muscians and builders etc. I have so many books on this I could start my own library. I have never seen any show actually feature the real fairy nobility which is a pity because they were everything television shows like - they were beautiful, charming, sexy, powerful. I was so disappointed when I saw the fairies on True Blood. I wish some writer on the show would do some actual research .

I agree with you Percy. I discovered The Tuatha De Danaan about 5 months ago and I think it's fascinating. If someone did the research they could make a whole show about nothing, but the TDD.
