Anyone ever noticed the similarities between Buffy-Angel-Spike and Sookie-Bill-Eric love triangles
- There is a blond girl caught in the middle between a brunette and a blond vampires
- Like Spike, Eric, the blond vampire, is way cooler than the brunette (Angel) and is extremely tempting for the girl (be that Buffy or Sookie)
- Buffy worked in the food industry and is a human with super natural abilities; Sookie works in the food industry and is a human with super natural abilities
- Like Angel, Bill is repulsed by his vampiric nature and broods a lot
- Like Spike, Eric accepts the fact that he is a vampire and is kind of enjoying it.
- Eric also is the first to admit his attraction to Sookie (similarly how Spike was pursuing Buffy to her great annoyance)

Totally saw this comparison when watching Buffy reruns today.
The idea for vamps to have to have permission to enter a house was clearly stolen!

actually, the fact that vampires can't enter houses without an invitation is part of common vampire mythology. Buffy incorporated that mythology into the show, just like True Blood does.

There are parallels, but I don't think it's becuase they wanted similiarities. I guess that's what just happens. For some reason I don't know the love triangles in American tv shows or movies always include a blonde and a brunette dude.
-TVD, Gossip Girl, The ben stiller movie about him and his wife and the kids are only three I can remember now.
But else, True Blood's nothing like Buffy. Sookie is a fairy, Bill has accepted what he is and comparing Eric to Spike, don't get me wrong, I used to like Spike but WTF, Eric's so much cooler than that.
