Look, I hate the comparison as the next person, but with them both being about vampires it's inevitable. Personally, I think they're radically different shows appealing to different audiences, but let the debate begin!

Clearly there is no comparison between Twilight and True Blood. Firstly, the writing in True Blood is much more intelligent (Alan Ball is a genius) and has a plot line which keeps its audience interested. The Twilight book and movies hardly have an atmosphere or tension. It's not like the vampire guy cannot go and save the girl from some sort of danger because it is light outside. Oh no, I am going to sparkle...BIG DEAL! And last point I am going to make is that the Twilight characters are completely one dimensional and stereotypical. I do not believe that any of those characters grow or have any depth to them compared to the True Blood characters. I mean look at Lafayette and Jason in True Blood. There is still so much that the audience needs to learn about them and there is still so much growing that has been set up.
But I will stop rambling.

seriously..? twlight was probably the most boring movie that i've EVER seen. Jen nailed it. true blood is definitely more developed.. and it has so much intensity. the movie is all about character development. its what makes it catchy and it keeps the plot moving forward. it's also more realistic: there are rules and laws that vampires have to abide by. how is it.. that vampires just "sparkle" when they're out in daylight? wow. lame. twlight actually made me chuckle.
and i'm sorry if anyone obsessive over twlight wants to freak out because i'm insulting rob's movie. dont worry, my post wont do anything to your i love rob notebooks OR- your rob patterson lunch boxes. i hope you stay in love with rob "4evaaa"-- to each his own.
p.s. sorry if it was harsh, i just really didnt like twlight. and i just think girls who love to fawn all over him are silly.

I am so glad that almost all of you think Twilight is lame. Most people obsess over that movie and those books. Frankly the biggest difference between the show and the movie is True Blood has good characters and actors that can portray them well, where Twilight has terrible actors and characters alike. As far as the books, I attempted to read the Twilight series to see what all the fuss was about, but in all honesty I couldn't get past the first chapter because of how poorly written the book is. The Sookie Stackhouse novels were so good though and very well written. For all of you that love the show, the books are way better. But yes, the show is still great. Plus alot of the show is different from the books even though the premise is the same, so it will keep those familiar with the books guessing.
True Blood wins, not even really a competition.
