    I'm surprised no one else as come down on TVD for the alpha thing, is this a common werewolf thing? I distinctly remember something similar in Teen Wolf.

     its a wolf thing. Its how it works in reality and not just with wolves. The problem with TVD being that it was never mentioned before and Plec pulled it out of her ass.

    Now let's not start this again, because you perfectly know I will never agree with that. Never saw Allison Scott's raison d'etre. Motivation? sometimes. But dude's genuinelly well written likeable heroic lead

    Yes the Alpha wolf has always been around but here it looks like an asspull cos since they began with Tyler's werewolf story they never explored the whole werewolf and pack dynamics. They just had Jules' boyfriend come with a bunch of werewolves in town who wanted revenge for Mason's death and the moonstone. It was apparent he was their ringleader but nothing about being the Alpha or the word 'pack' was mentioned.

    Lol BN, I know we'll never agree on that, I'm just saying all those examples are characters I don't like, it's just an opinion, to me at least it seems like nothing drives these characters except hormones, which granted is what drives most teenagers, but I swear it's like teenagers have no other problems, whenever it's too soap opera-ish it reminds me of shows like 90210 and GG, which is not a good thing.

    I don't think Tyler is constructing the plan himself, he doesn't have the brain for it, he's probably following what Hayley feeds him. Also, are we absolutely sure hybrids die when their maker is destroyed?
