     Actually, Elena did care about Damon abusing Caroline, though it was only for fiveminutes, she was furious after seeing the scars and told Damon off. Then she got mad that Stefan wasn't doing anything about it And the fake breakup show for caroline, not even gonna go there cause I'd just make a wall of text, but that is when I officially started to hate Elena, and even after she forgave Caroline, I still hated her, Caroline deserved an apology. Yes Glenna you're Hanna and I'm Emily :) we share a room together looool

     Then in season two she joked about that whole accident with a thought on that happening again and both she and steffie loled at that.

     to paraphrase the scene "oh that caroline, getting raped again, hee heee, that damon the funny guy"....
