I read online that her main purpose in the book series was because she knew how to kill Klaus and the Originals because of her Grandfather surviving a mass attack by the Originals. Seeing as the Originals are only being brought into the show now, is there a chance Meredith could become a series regular- or even a guest star? She deserves to be a series regular as, in the book series, she was Elena's closest friend.
I also reas that the producer had her written into the show for the Pilot episode but he removed her because there were too many girls. He also said he needs some characters to die before introducing her. Now, ALOT of characters have died.
My overall question asks, "Will Meredith Sulez appear in The Vampire Diaries in season 3 (or future seasons)?"

Idk when Meredith will come on TVD but I think the writers are planning to bring her in at some stage... she was awesum in the books and she did have quite a big role in them...
I don't think they will introduce her next season because there are already going to be heaps of new characters coming in (the originals, people from Klaus's past that might link him to the Salvatores {?}, the others in Klaus's gang, etc.)....
But I think that in S4 they will introduce her as a character cuz she is really important in the books (i no the series is dif from the books, but some important elements from the books are/will be in the show at some stage)...
And after all originals-klaus (and even Katherine maybe) stuff is over and before elena turns into a vamp (which im assuming might possibly be towards the end or S4) the show will need more plotlines than just the whole love problems and Stefan's blood addiction and all the supernatural problems (cuz TVD always has like 10 things going on at once)..... So that would be a good time to bring in Meredith....
Anyway thats just what i think will happen

lol Yes CW should continue bringing in the hot guys to the show. I wonder if Klaus' other brothers are as hot and gorgeous as him,

She sort of has to be introduced next season, since we have all this focus on Klaus and Meredith had quite a big connection to Klaus storyline in the books.
Not ot mention its a perfect moment to set up her and ALaric relationship.

Ye it could just happen. A lot of people have also talked about(only fan rumors) that Vanessa(the chick from Duke) might come back to the show. But as i have read the posts and people have described her, she sounds a bit like a badass female character. I kinda hope that they would "evolve" Elena into such a character in season 3. And i dunno if 2 of such character would have great balance. Because if Elena stage this dull dummie with tear canals, i can't guarentee to keep watching;(

Meredith is a half-vampire half-human(even smallest ammount of blood would turn her) who masquerades as Elena's completely normal high-school friend in the books, builds interesting relationship with Alaric and spends nights secretly hunting and killing vampires and other things. She is completely cynnical, wry , dark, calculating, stable, unhindered by anything and sarcastic.
Hell, Damon is AFRAID of her and completely looses his snarky and cool attitude around her. And thats even before she reveals her secret(s) and how she is exactly connected to Klaus.
Theoretically the portrayal, personality and role of Buffy in last three seasons of BtVS is greatly inspired by Meredith, however Meredith does not have an actual clear counter-part in that show.
Comments by J.Plec quite clearly indicate they will add Meredith.
And yes. I too fear that Elena will YET again be overshadowed by "oh look new great badass characters in town! lets focus on them!" style of plot ideas...

Meridith isn't a half-vampire and half-human in books. Atleast I haven't read that part yet. She's one of the main characters in books. But Damon's afraid of her because of her personality. She's calm, collected, strong, doesn't give a f*ck about Damon, and she's very loyal to her friends (Bonnie & Elena). I think she's really a hardcore character. Looking forward to see her on TV. I wanna see Damon and Meredith's interactions or the friendship bet. Bonnie, Elena and her or Alaric and Meridith's student-teacher relationship. That would really be awkward! :))
