Fully Transitioning?

sorry, this may be a dumb question..but can someone please explain to me the bit about them fully transitioning.. i understand that it happens after u feed.. but you know how damon wasnt feeding at first.. would this mean he would die due to lack of blood?
also, what do you think stefans reason for turning damon was.. do you believe it was out of selfishness because he didnt want to be alone or because he didnt want his brother to die?

i think it means fully transitioning towards being a vamp. from the way it happened on the show before someone turns, that person has to have vampire blood in their system. then they have to die and in turn feed on a human before the process is fully complete. and i think gradually damon would get weaker and eventually die if he hadn't have fed on anyone.

idk. i think stefan and damon were close before katherine came long right? or at least that's the notiion i got. so i don't think it was out of selfishiness, i think at that point in time stefan truly looked up to damon and wanted to be with him. i don't think he fully understood the katherine thing until wayyyyy later.
but i fucking loved that episode so much because it made clear why they are the way they are. and why damon hates him so much. damon must have REALLY loved katherine

well i think all living breathing species can't continue on without nurishment. i mean i guess a vamp could live on without feeding but i imagine it'd REALLY weaken them and would probably be very painful lmao. but as far as i know vervain weakens them but stakes to the heart, fire, and direct sunlight kills them? i am sure there are more. cause stefan had so many ingenius ways of killing vamps lmao.

idk. maybe they did in earlier episodes. there's been so many i don't remember every detail :(
omg this episode made me love stefan and his "pure heart" (which i awww'd at btw) so much more.. and his line about fighting with himself and not giving himself over to the temptation of blood to make the pain stop.. and then the scene with elena and stefan at the end..
this episode also made elena more likeable.. she definitely had guts to go into the room with stefan when he still hadnt fed.
LMAO i love how much of a stefan girl you are. ffs i forgot to sign on last night. i miss fan girling over stefan with you!

i think it was a combination of both selfishness and not wanting damon to die!

I think that if they don't feed, they die. But once they are vampires, if they don't feed (on human or animal blood), they don't die but rather become very weak and they look rotten lol (like the vamps in the tomb).
Their mom was mentioned by their dad... he said something like "thank god your mother isn't here to see this" (the fact they were helping katherine and became vampires) or something like that, i'm guessing she died when they were younger.
I also think Stefan didn't force Damon to turn into a vampire because he was being selfish or because he didn't want him to die (i'm not saying he didn't care about this, but the real reason for him wanting Damon to feed was because he felt great after transitioning, he felt powerfull and thought it was great.. he wanted Damon to feel the same... later he would find it was a curse).
