Elijah and Klaus are both originals and probably there are more originals out there! The fact that they are originals means that they turned at the same time. So, they are the same age and they are both originals which means they have these special powers originals have. Then, how come Klaus is stronger than Elijah? I don't get that.

not necessairly they all became originals at the same time they could have been the same generation of vampires thats the reason their called originals but Klaus is the beginning and the technical "King" of all the vampires...just because their all originals it doesn't have to mean that they were all turned at the same time...all the originals are the first generation of vampires

I still don't even understand what ' an original ' exactly means, like how did they become one .. ?

@XxLuLuxX thanks! i get it now!

@Bella* i don't know how the originals became vampires either. i hope it will be explained in the show at some point. all i know is that they are the first generation of vampires, that there were no vampires before them.

If Klaus was the first ever vampire then who or how was he turned? I hope we get an explanation, otherwise it would suck

@Bella I think that in the books it's said that Klaus has never been human,he's a pure vampire and that he existed long before even the pyramids were build..or something like this.

@ luana thanks !! Only than there is still the question like how did he come to excist, i mean if he wasn't born than what?

Asking how Klaus exists and came to become a vampire is like asking what water tastes like. They are obviously many twists and turns on the subject of how did this all really starT? Maybe it was a spell cast that made supernatural beings like vampires exist. Vampires are a completely foreign concept and are very different from werewolves and witches. After all we all know werewolves and witches are born with their powers through reproduction and that they are supernatural beings based on the genes and their blood. On the other hand a vampire cannot be reproduced and cannot "have been born that way" So therefore he could have possibly just came to exist. And I think it is likely that they will explain how this all began.

Vampire Diaries Quotes

You want a love that consumes you. You want passion and adventure, and even a little danger... I want you to get everything you're looking for. But for right now, I want you to forget that this happened. Can't have people knowing I'm in town yet. Goodnight, Elena.

Damon

Damon: You know what they are? Children. Like lighting a candle's going to make everything OK, or even saying a prayer. Or pretending Elena's not going to end up just like the rest of us murdering vampires. Stupid, delusional, exasperating little children. And I know what you're going to say: 'It makes them feel better, Damon.' So what? For how long? A minute, a day? What difference does it make? Because in the end, when you lose somebody, every candle, every prayer is not going to make up for the fact that the only thing you have left is hole in your life where that somebody that you cared about used to be. And a rock with a birthday carved into it that I'm pretty sure is wrong. So thanks, friend. Thanks for leaving me here to babysit. Because I should be long gone by now. I didn't get the girl, remember? I'm just stuck here fighting my brother and taking care of the kids. You owe me big.
Alaric: I miss you too, buddy.
