Klaroline or Forwood?

      I root for forwood's breakup more than I root for klaroline lmao. The writing for them has deteriorated so much since they started their build up in season 2, it's not even funny. I used to like them back then but it quickly went downhill and now the two characters desperately need some space for a while. At least Caroline does, I don't really care about Tyler.

      I agree with all of this. but it seems to me Plec holds them at OTP level. they keep writing for them situations in which she has to stand by him, and it's incredibly annnoying because it takes their characters nowhere, it's the same cycle of TROUBLES-grin-ilu-kiss(-sex).     idc how much his fandom faps about Tyler. yes, he had a controlling father, he could have been a bad guy and he's not. he had noble intentions about the hybrids... everything is good, but a)we've never seen him growing into that, Plec was writing him mainly as a love interest. b)his character (personality wise) is still bland. in a way, it reminds me of how Elena's stans blame everything about her on her ptsd and what she's gone through, and praise her for "being strong" nontheless. I felt bad for him in the last episode but I still don't care for his character. Sorry. I think I already said that. LOL.

      They write them at OTP level but when I read the interviews or whatever, it still sounds like they're just as bored with the pair. This doesn't mean I think they'll jump klaroline though. But since it's popular, I don't think it'll drop. you'll get more like a continuous tease. I'm not that optimistic, I'm just realistic and I know realistically the writers will cater to big fanbases regardless of whether the ships get happy endings or not. Basically I'm saying KC won't drop, but I'm not saying it's endgame. (a little extreme to say that, some fans intrigue me...) Ugh Patri did you ever register there? Can nawt stand that air head.

      Perhaps they want to write them as OTP, but it doesn't show IMO. This season they started with grief sex (that scene was...ugh), then Hayley was introduced and it was a mixture of lies, fights and jealousy from then on. Almost all their interaction had to do with either Hayley or the hybrids. Caroline spent way more meaningful time with Stefan and even Klaus than she did with Tyler. That's not good OTP writing there. Although I guess we'll see more of forwood's epic bond now that Caroline is supposed to support Tyler in his grief. Meh.

      Like you, Blood Roses, I feel bad for his misfortunes and I appreciate that he is one of the few people in Mystic Falls who don't worship at the altar of the holy vagina, but I can't bring myself to care about him. I don't know if I should blame the writing for his blandness or the acting (Trevino is very stiff most of the time and not particularly expressive IMO), it's probably a combination of both.

       

      Flora I didn't register, just read a few topics for a while and never went back lol. I didn't want to risk getting into an argument with people like Freckles, it would kill my brain cells.

      There's nothing positive about Tyler that his Stans can say besides that he loves Caroline and is not a mass murderer. Apparently those qualities make him an awesome character. It doesn't matter that he's fifty shades of dumb and bland like vanilla.

      Btw Flora, have you read Solstice? It's an AU fic based on Greek mythology. Klaus is Hades and he kidnaps Caroline after seeing her as some festival. It's well written and pretty dark.
