More focus on the main triangle?
Salvatores are misogynist date-rapist serial killers. They do not deserve anything and unless suddenly show starts to shine in writing department and calls them out on the shit they did, they do not deserve any happy endings either.
This is partly why I hate the triangle so much. the show is so ignorant about everything, and that's preventing the oh-so-compassionate Elena from ever calling them out on their bs... but she can see the "good" in them.
Season 1 made Damon look possibly redeemable which is why you were able to look past his treatment to Stefan and Caroline, but not exactly EXCUSE him for it.then came season 2 (with his "redemption arc", his "relationship" with Andie, and lack of individual story), and I've lost any hope I may have had before for his character.
Stefan is the ~only character that had confronted Damon about Caroline and Andie, but as ripper!Stefan practically all of his victims were women.
^thats interesting because you were a DE fan knowing all the shit Damon has done offscreen.
What flora said.
Also S1 Elena still had possibility to become Elena from the books, if one interprets her behavior as survivor's guilt type of ptsd.
Not to mention that S1 Damon was being called out on the shit he does but was built up as a person who does not care what he does because he is living for the sake of bringing back Katherine and even when he cares what he does he does it when it has to be done, in his twisted way.
And every death, etc was called out on him that season and as he started to know Elena it seemed that they both were slowly escaping their past and starting to be who they actually.
There was a kind of moral compass, even if a bit weak one back then...come season wto and everything of that is gone.
but they get to call her out on her stupid decisions or something
and EVEN THEN the cardboard STILL gets her way and STILL is portrayed as the right choice. uhhh.
