Nina Dobrev, a bad actress?
Hahaha, I wonder how she feels when watching does scenes! If it was me, and I saw it; I would probably crack up! But I really do believe that she has improved. A lot!
Watching, lifetime - too young to marry, thinking -- wow this girl really is a bad actress... she was bad in degrassi, she was bad on lifetime, and she is bad on vampire diaries.
You guys are kidding me right? She's awesome as Katherine! And btw the what are you scene was supposed to be awkward because its way it was scripted.
And Elena does show emotions, but you really have to look for them. The problem lies with the character of Elena who is bit plain. in the Rose scene, if you looked closely you'd notice her expression changes and the scene between her and Damon in the return-there she was pretty good. But seriously as Katherine, Nina Dobrev is amazing-with all her dark and light shades!!
I think she's a great actress! To be able to play two roles that are so different at the same time proves that. You can really see the diffrence between Katherine and Elena even though she plays them both. In the episode "Katerina" you can really see that, she's amazing in that episode.
I think she's great. She overacts sometime, especially with her mouth and eyes, but she's overall great. In the episodes with Mason I didn't even see Katherine as Nina Dobrev, I saw Katherine as someone other than Nina's 2nd character like another actress was playing her. And that to me is great acting.
so NOT a bad actress!!! I thought she was mediocre in season 1 but this season the girl's playing Elena AND Katherine and makes you think like it's 2 different actresses impersonating each character. IMO she's better as Katherine - she owns the part. but still she's a great Elena.
the actress playing Elena does not really conveys a lot of emotion in her acting.
actually its the character Elena that sucks. she does a great job doing Kat but Elena just plain sucks!!
hmm I can understand why people would be unsatisfied with her acting in season 1 (particularly the earier episodes), but I think she really had improved and grown into her character(s).
She's been amazing as Katherine from the get to (especially this season) and she plays Elena the way I imagine she should: a real teenage girl with more burdens than she can bear. IMHO she's doing a wonderful job; she obviously puts in the work and I appreciate that.
I love Nina as Katherine. She plays her well. Maybe she just plays the bitches better.
I like Elena but she has gotten on my nerves lately. Honestly, I think if they delved deeper into her character she would be so much better. She did a nice job closer to the end of season one. When she found out she was adopted and what not and cried. I don't think it is neccessarily bad acting, but not enough character development.
Also, her gestures and manurisms as Elena are kinda awkward. I think it makes everything ten times worse. She is a good actress. Elena is just boring.
