Feeling guilty for what one does is a good part of making show have sensible consequences.
The problem is that Elena does NOT just "feel guilty" about anything ever.
Its that through three seasons of the show Elena's guilt was written correctly ONCE - that is in the whole "Steffie sparklicide" moment. Its the only time she ever personalized the whole "I am feeling so guilty" thing, the only time she looked back at what she did.
In every other case, Plec wrote it as "Elena feels guilty for stuff she really should not feel guilty because she is sooooo awesome"

Yes, I was merely dealing with how Plec potrays Elena's guilt will she will continue to do even if it doesn't transend onscreen. Plec will continue to insinuate that.Posted 12/1/2012 1:23:00 PM #

Frankly the best case scenario that I can ever think of is plec yet again trying to rip off certain show and after few episodes of everyone being convinced its sire bond, its revealed that its not....otherwise this show has reached even lower level than twilight./

Does anyone think this sire-bond is planned? Perhaps from S2? It feels like a giant asspull to keep Elena "innocent". But think about it. Elena kept saying that she didn't want to be a vampire bahwah and whatnot. We on this forum critizied it wildy, because her actions completly contradicted what she said. But now that she got turned she is sired. We know that it seldom happens, and that when you are sired it's because the person have been saved from a life of shit n' stuff. So now Elena is sired.
I suppose the much more likely answer is that the stars alligned with the shitty writing S2, but still it seems like a huge coincidence. . .
