different subjects. Halde "arguments" are about theoretical plot details not real life situations. most of stuff in that is equal so both sides need equal kinds of arguments.
The society in real world is inherently sexist and inherently MORE likely to assault women than men, thus I am not giving a benefit of a doubt to a repeat-offender like Plec. :)

to sum up: because of sexist culture, because the target was a female AND because Plec is known for her sexism its FAR more likely for that tweet to be sexist than just having fun. Those factors surrounding the situation make it so one needs less arguments against her.
The opressors need far more arguments for their point than the oppressed.
