expression of their moral*

Have you lived in a bubble? All trashtalk is made this way.
Ableist and sexist slurs are made that way. Just because you are using it, does not mean its good. And even then "trash talk" can be used and interpreted in different ways(you have sassy gay "you slut!" and you have a furious female slut-shaming "YOu slut!", for example).
Just because people think its okay to call someone "retarded" it does not mean that they are suddenly absolved from the fact that they are being utterly ableist about a person they know nothing about.
No, being called a player is NOT awesome. It might be in the society of so called "pretty boys", but in any other context, it is just as bad, because it implies the exact same.
Even if it implies EXACT SAME THING, in this current sexist society its a positive term.
If i was a vegetarian who thought of eating meat as murder, expression my moral towards it, would be an attempt to meat-shame(just as valid) the person eating the meat into not. . .
And if you were a female and did not cover your face you would be stoned to death in some eastern countries.
There's a very simple line one has to not cross:
Everyone should keep each other's morals to themselves and allow a free independent thought and speech.
One's morals apply to HIMSELF, you or anyone does NOT own anyone else and thus can NOT force their own set of morals upon them.

as opposed to female version. And that's exactly the problem. Why should it be positive or negative? Why put those people into a stereotype, defining them with one word that has gender-role implications? THAT is sexism.

No it isn't. . .In certain VERY limited groups, it is, but generally it isn't. . .

You know I can't believe a dumb ass tweet from Julie Plec turned into a 5 page discussion of sexism. She called the girl drunk off her ass, if that's sexist then I'll just let my brain explodePosted 8/20/2012 2:43:00 PM #

The way she did it was sexist, though. She assembled a couple of sexist stereotypes assigned to drunk women into i t.

How else would she have phrased that? "drunk girl"(is because women can't get drunk? In my experience they can) is the one that's kicking you off i assume. If it is, is it a stereotype because a lot of people think a lot of girls are drunk?
I wouldn't call that tweet sexist in a million years. . .

- Thisss seriously. All she did was say "girl gets so drunk she can't remember her name" And what if it was a guy she was talking about? Or maybe you're just so bothered by the obvious sexism she's written on the show, that automatically anything she says is offensive....lol.

How else would she have phrased that?
"a drunk girl recognised Paul Wesley despite being drunk" works good.
But she jsut had to run her mouth and assign stuff like "Can't spell her own name" and stuff that ARE a sexist stereotypes of a drunk woman.

You said something about sexist slurs on first page. . . Is it a sexist slur to say that a person can't stand? Or that she doesn't know her own name?
You see, it's probably because, when people are very drunk, standing up can face quite a challenge. The thing with the name,(and probably them both) are just an exaggeration to promote understanding, because even though i have been very drunk a lot, i have never forgotten my own name, so i would assume that that one would be an exaggeration so paint a picture of how drunk this girl is.
