They looked cool and they were young which you rarely saw in vampire movies.
Looking young is just a matter of when they are turned. . . They tend to be young because it is directed to an audience of approx 15~. Young people are to shallow to want to watch 40+ year old people
Thats a matter of opinion young people could watch any vampire movie no matter how old the vampire is. I loved Fright night when I was a kid and that was an older vampire in that movie. Lost Boys just set the standard for a different trend of vampires. No movie or TV show copied Buffys vampires. Like TVD used a mix between Lost Boys and Interview with a vampire to make there vampire world.

Yes they could but not the majority.
becoming vampire reveals who you are as a person inside. What kind of monster you hide behind your mask.
Hmm, it's a shame. This bust a little if the respect i had for realism of BtVS.

Why So? every human in our world is inherently animal. our own morals formed by society prevent us from being animals.
Vampires sure are predators. But they are still us. Us as predators. They crave blood, they do bad things, but they are not something they were not before death. Thats why Angel can't just go "demons did it!" on his past. He is capable of all of that.

Actually what Halde says is a fact. Young angsty vampires sell more than smart old-looking vamps. In fact, Buffy pretty much set the trend of "pretty old vamps on tv" stuff with Spike and Angel.
Its just that BTVS uses the OLD model of vampires. as monsters, predators, something unnatural.
Also BTVS vamps are designed how vamps look in horror fiction - Master was pretty much based on Nosferatu(even his storyline and death was)

Why So?
Simple because potraying every person being inheritly evil(i think that was the fraise you used) hence fundamental evil, is unrealistic. Fundamental evil persons DON'T EXIST. By the way you describe it, and how i seems to have misunderstood the vampires of BtVS, is saying, that all people are evil down to the core. This isn't realistic.
That too, is a fact.
Oh and my above post (And i am not saying it is necesarily a bad thing, and no, it ain't an opinion. It's a fact.) is directed to the younger vampire part discussion.

By inherently evil, i meant CAPABLE of evil. THere are no pure hearted bunny eaters in the world. EVERYTHING has good and bad qualities in it. supernatural and natural. Animalistic and pacifistic. good and bad. white and black. Faith and Buffy. Buffy and Willow. and so on. The whole show encompasses duality.
Every person has animalistic tendencies that our morality and conscience keeps in check. Thus every person to ever exist is capable of evil or predatory actions. Thus vampires are predators in that sense, while still remaining who they were, because its in those who they were. just in different degrees.

THus they are driven to do something bad not becasue its nature of vampires. But because its nature of every living being, just as doing good. Its just that having conscience and feeling uilt over the bad things, reigns us to keep animalistic actions low.

Dude that "Ultimate Opening" was seriously freaking epic! I have a question to all who have watched Angel TV show and BtVS. Now Angel TV show ain't the best production in cinematic history, but it have a entertainment value. But there are some things in it, that are pretty good. I "for one" think that the developement and depth given to Wesley(Alexis Denisof) was very, VERY good.
