Okay. This was possibly the best chapter of btvs comics possible. Never expected it to go so deep and into such a controversial subject.

VERY nice callback to Season Five scene on the stairs. Buffy yet again is in her darkest moments and Spike is yet again there for her when the hardest decision is at hand.

I hope she goes through with that decision. Drama potential from that is HUGE.

oh god, so many feelings. Everything in this comic book just got a wholly lot  more depressing and dark.

    This panel. This panel alone.

Okay, Joss Whedon interview just confirmed that she WILL go through with her decision.

lol Whedon is part of the comics too? Where are you buying these comics, I can find them after catching up with the show. Though, watching it chronogically isn't a wise mix with school ugh.

    Yes.

Comic book seasons are what we would have had as "Buffy Season 8 9 and 10" of tv show, had tv show continued and Whedon did not have the whole lawsuit stuff and FOX entertainment trying to activelly shut down anything he does.

Buffy Season Eight takes place one year after events of Angel Season Five and sort of connects both stories into one again. .

Whedon is writing the comics, alongside two or three other writers. And I think he hired one of TVD's S1 writers into his team for S9

    Timeline-wise it goes:

    1. Buffy S1                    (Buffy is 16)
    2. Buffy S2                    (Buffy is 17)
    3. Buffy S3                    (Buffy is 18)
    4. Buffy S4 & Angel S1    (Buffy is 19)
    5. Buffy S5 & Angel S2    (Buffy is 20)
    6. Buffy S6 & Angel S3    (Buffy is 20)
    7. Buffy S7 & Angel S4    (Buffy is 21)
    8. Angel S5                   (Buffy is 22)
    9. Buffy S8(comic book)  (Buffy is 24)
    10. Buffy S9(Comic Book) (buffy is 24)

Chronologically, EVERY season represents around one year of time in the show universe(Exceptions  being S1 which takes less than half a year). Halloween is always around ep 5 or 6 and Buffy's birth day is around 13-14(with exception of S1 which starts way after her birthday and S9 which starts with her birthday)

    Is each Issue = Episode?

    I just speculated. . .

Why was it Angelus who lost his soul? Why weren't it Darla?

Darla kidnapped the child. How the hell did the gypsi folks know that it was Angelus and not Darla who ate her? It makes no sense!

Why was it Angelus who lost his soul? Why weren't it Darla?

    because angelus is famous.

He is litterally the boogeyman of vampires. The most cruel most dangerous most known one. Darla, despite her position managed to keep a relatively lower profile, while Angelus was known through the world and still is to the point that his name drives fear into the minds of people and vampires alike.

Everyone, litterally, everyone knows who he is.

Darla kidnapped the child. How the hell did the gypsi folks know that it was Angelus and not Darla who ate her? It makes no sense!

Part what I said above, part universal grand plan.

Angelus HAD to be cursed to meet Whistler in Los Angeles and be set on his path written in shanshu prophecy. We know that beings like The First and The Powers That Be manipulated the world before to "push" certain events.

Angel/Angelus  has been fate's/destiny's bitch since the start and he is litterally unable to break out of it till the certain events.

Spike in comparison was someone who spit in the face of destiny and made his own.

Theoretically yes and no, about episode=issue. Some issues cover longer periods of time, some cover only minutes of events and the panel count of one issue(one issue is around ~40 pages or so) is not near enough to be in 45 minutes of episode, however two issues are way too much already.

So the reason it had to be Angelus and not Darla
