Liam's whole nature as its essnetially a monster.
I actually think we are watching different shows(unless Whedon has made a statement about this). . . Liam is a drunken idiot. He has never been depicted as anything else. A drunk moron who has disappointed his dad, but with a mother and sister who still loves him. Going from being drunk to serial killer is a very long way.

Season Two Angel
BtVS or ATS? BtVS, again 2 different people. ATS he no were near Angelus. There is a difference in being dark, and then be Angelus. Wesley went dark aswell, he doesn't have a evil twin.
season five angel.
Ends justify the means, it was a plot to defeat WR&H on earth, in which he had to seem disconnected and "evil".

He is drunken, careless, incredibly sociopathic don juan who is extremely self-centered and pretty much only cares about himself and loved hurting his father.
He was walking that road and becoming Angelus just unleashed everything that was in him hidden. Thus Angelus is a whole, without restrictions, Liam.
Spike did not become a different man from becoming a vampire, why should Angelus? It was extension of his own identity.
ATS he no were near Angelus. There is a difference in being dark, and then be Angelus.
Wrong. His behavior was incredibly angelus like, with usual Angelus-like scenarios like stalking people when they are alone, leaving gag gifts and arranging events for a perfect masterpiece for his own satisfaction. It was EXACTLY angelus-like.

Which in itself was again angelus like.
The whole S5 scheme was a nicely laid out multi-layered angelus-like painting of destruction. It just happened to be serving the "good side" (even if technically after Jasmine there's no such side)
To sum up, nope.
Angelus and Liam and Angel are Liam. not different people. Angelus is a whole, while Liam and Angel - restricted.
Same with Spike, whose vampire personality was an extension of who he was as human.

Just watched the S6 birthday episode, and God, Dawn feels immensly unreal. She feels like someone without a soul. Like Buffy in that episode where her soul got sucked. Or someone who is stupid and irrationel beyond human comprehention.
Argh! I wish i could go back in time and smack Whedon around and make create a better character.

Just watched the S6 birthday episode, and God, Dawn feels immensly unreal.
GET OUT GET OUT GETOUT.
That episode made me LOVE Dawn even more so. She was just so human in it and I fucking love her struggle with reality and existential crisis portrayed there. We are made by the bonds and memories we have and DAwn can't really rely on either and I love that Buffy is so supportive of her sister and showcases that just like with Scoobies, THE PAST DOES NOT MATTEr,t he family is where your heart is and that Dawn wi ll always be Buffy's sister no matter who she was before the monk-mindfuckery.
I love Dawn's shock and psychological reaction to finding out what she is. Its so damn realistic and tangible and I love the support buffy gives her, being reminded of her own pain when she discovered her own destiny.
Its possibly my most favorite birthday episode with Surprise coming in second.

no one will attack dawn in my presence she is one of the best little sister characters on tv and far more realistic character than lets say, germy and I will never ever understand someone hating on her.
