You should remember nicky was turned around in his late teens or early 20's that's a lot of issues there. He was still in transition from teen to adulthood. So better stop with a fucking double standards too, Also human rumple cried while being bullied too.

Although crying at homecoming seemed forced, the other TWO TIMES made sense, you know a total of CRYING THREE TIMES holy shit that sounds like a whole season.

Good for you. I want to punch him in the face for stealing screentime from Caroline and Tyler, as well as underedeveloped characters who could really use screentime like Bonnie, Matt, Germy.

As strange as it is, I liked Matt and Germy in Season One. Matt was this normal dude struggling with his life, while Germy was a great FOIl for Elena, calling out her on her bullshit and acting like a teenager.

Oyh please, Germy calling elena out on her shit was always great. Germy's romance with Anna while twilight-y and sugarcoated was still decent. He was bassically less likeable Dawn, but with more focus on being ELena's FOIL. And then suddenly it all went to shit, because, well, duh, Elena is always right.
Matt was just a normal guy, with problems and shit. THe problem in that was that writers pretty much wrote that sentence and STOPPED. Everything else in his character can go against his baseline now. There's nothing wrong with a young teenager living alone and trying to deal with economical problems. Hell his storyline of the annoying stupid mother was GREAT. The problem is that, just like with everyone else, writers suddenly FORGOT what makes that character tick and just wrote shit that contradicts his development.

Matt's background works GREAT with Book-Elena and without his S2-S3 characterization. You have this normal guy trying to make everything work in his life. He gets used and dropped by the most popular girl in the school and is trying to get back into his life, providing more honest moral-compasy insight because he KNOWS life. The baseline works. The shit they did with his character in S2 and S3 just does not.
Germy ALSO works great wtih Book-Elena. let's just say that Book Elena is capable of being very insufferable to other people around her and tends to be a very flawed person. Germy was percfect for calling her out on that shit, for feeling like he is in shadow of his all-popular queen-bee sister who is involved in everything and uses people like sock puppets to get what she wants. The baseline yet again works. Everything they did with his character in S2 and S3 does NOT.
Damon. Even S1 Damon who was still watered down a lot from book Damon would WORK with book-Elena and book-katherine concepts. he is a perfect foil for her and already compelling love hate in s1 would be magnified by Elena having a personality. The baseline works. What they did with his character in S2 and S3 does NOT.
Steffie. Even if this steffie is a wimp, the concept of book SE still works, with Steffie disregarding Elena as just another Katherine and learning that its the opposite. his build up in S1 and mistery of his past works perfectly. What they shitted over with his "character" in s2 and S3 does NOT.
Even this caroline works with THAT Elena. Hell it would be even lively to see those two compete.
Even judgy boring non-Willow-y Bonnie works with Book Elena because she WOULD HAVE REASONS TO BE THAT.
This "klaus" however outright does not work, being based upon mary sue tv elena.
What is common element of those things? Elena.
Those characters were BUILT AROUND this Elena that Plec invented and THAT introduced 99% of all the problems with those characters and their character assassinations. Plec wanted to change Elena thus she changed how logic works and how characters react to her and BY THAT she also changed who those characters are.
Thats a clear fact. Majority of the problems, CRITICAL problems of this show started with Plec's decision to turn Elena into Miss Cardboard from very start. most of supporting characters COULD have compelling storylines if NOT for the very idea of being built around THIS elena.
