Totally agree with you Flora, how can someone be this cruel and let kids fight eachother until they die. And how they forced Katniss to leave her save spot with fire and go to the direction of the others so that they could kill her or this dogs.
- Exactly!! But I understand that's what makes the story interesting, the fact that they are living in a fucked up asshole dicatorship. I'm not sure if this is the reason or one of the reasons why it's so popular, other than the fact the fans enjoy good action and drama. I am just a very sensitive person, so I get rage crazy when I see stories like this. Battle Royale is exactly like this (Japan was overpopulated, so the government sent all the high school district's students to kill each other on an island) that was twice as gorey as THG but all of my friends were so into it. And I dunno if it's true but Wikipedia said THG along with 5 other movies were influenced off Battle Royale.
- Sending that fire on Katniss and creating those dogs, seriouslyyyyyyy pissed me off. What made me even more mad was that the people with Seneca were smiling and laughing while they were doing it. Like, they just wanted to watch a good game. That fucking pissed me off. It's like Peetah said, they see them as "a piece in their game" rather than a fucking human being. A child!!
I'm just glad that the movie has a good ending. And PeetaxKatniss looks so faked after the movie, when I thought about it, during the movie I actually bought it and I felt sorry for Gale. When I heard that Peeta saved Katniss, I didn't thought that he just gave her fucking bread, even if bread can be life saving.
- I felt bad for Gale too ugh that cutie ♥ And of course I spoiled myself by reading about Catching Fire and I don't like the sound of his role in that one. I really felt Everlark/Peenis? was forced, I kind of knew it was for the game but yes it was hard to tell if she was getting real feelings. At the end it seemed that she sort of got over it. Oh they said he saved her before? lol I didn't know but wow a loaf of bread please. All I wanted in the ending was for the Capitol to go downnnnn. Now I guess that will be in either Catching Fire or Mocking Jay.
- I'm just glad I'm not the only one who feels disturbed by the series, I mean I still like it but damn i is depressing.

I agree, Flora, it is overrated. Especially the movie, I mean, yes it was good and all but because of all the hype I now know the WHOLE PLOT OF THE ENTIRE 3 BOOKS and now I don't even want to read them anymore (and tbqh, collins' writing style annoyed me at the beginning).

I always pictured THG (First I had to get that, because we have a school in my town called ThG - and I went there) to be something like Batte Royale and The Running Man. If I look at the notes on tumblr ... like 30,2323 notes. Damn.

Flora, I remember Peeta gave her bread after her father died (correct me I'f I'm wrong) and her mom was kind of depressed and let Katniss and Prim starve and that bread gave her hope. HOLY BREAD

- Exactly! I basically scroll away when all the hype is on my dashboard, but I'm pretty sure I know a lot of stuff from the other 2 books now. The fanbase sort of doesn't really believe in censoring spoilers and shit. That killed my chances of ever reading them now, plus they just sound incredibly depressing even if stuff I wanted to happen like the Capitol goes down.

Oh my gosh so I am not the only one who pictured it like Battle Royale? Notes on tumblr for what tho...and lol, I'm pretty sure I've seen this bread song before. Even on photo sets.

- Yeah, I noticed anything THG on my dash is thousands of notes. It makes me miss the HP hype, because at least that was not as annoying. Tbqh, I fucking hate the memes. I don't find them funny at all, especially that fucking "I'm Peetah and I know it" one. I guess if you read all the books you would have more of a sense of humor with the fandom...and that scene "I'll take the bow....Just kidding" WHY did that have to be on dashboard so much, it wasn't that fucking funny omfg.
- Also I looked more into that link you posted, apparently all the tweets were being screenshotted and uploaded by the tumblr thehungergamestweets. The blog somehow ended up being on E!news and CNN, and the owner didn't even know until her inbox on tumblr got full. Now the little girl who played Rue knows about the tweets and it pisses me off. First I was annoyed at all the hype, and now I just want to punch like a portion of them. "oh my gosh ew how does rue remind katniss of primrose if she looks like that" How about the fact that reminding you of someone does not EVER just mean by appearance. Fucking morons, I'm just glad all the accounts were suspended.
- Oh an animal dying is always sad, but these were fucking teenagers being sent from their families to kill each other, and then Rue's death killed it for me and I broke out crying. Ughhhh, either a child or an animal, I will always cry.
I think the dad one was just once in the film, lol I've never seen the running man. Oh and I checked Battle Royale tag on tumblr, lol okay so I totally wasn't the only one who thought it was similar.
