   I never liked him much until the last ep... I loved how he sacrificed himself for Elena and the letter at the end was really touching... I cried when his (and Jenna's) funeral took place...

   I wish he didnt die bcuz if he was alive he would be the legal guardian for Elena and Jeremy (since Jenna is dead)... and in S3 they could have explored the relationship with John-Jeremy-Elena...

   He was starting to grow as a parent...

   John was defenitely growing on me and it was really SAD to see him go. I never liked him much at the beginning thought he was a waste of TVD space but he redeemed himself and no Elena is parent-less and Jeremy well has no one. They have no one but eachother. Lets hope after the final episode( because I have a feeling it will be all doom and gloom ) there will be more happy times for these characters. Unless well someone else dies. :$

   What a way for John to show how special Elena was to him that he would take his own life in the end for her not become a vampire. He went from the worst dad to the best dad! I also David anders is a great actor it's ashame that TVD couldn't keep him around.

   I understand John because he was just like how Bonie was in the beginning, which was hating all vampires. Now, he didnt handle it like Bonnie did because for the most part (except for faking the spell at the end of the first season) Bonnie cared about Elena's feelings for the Salvatore brothers. John didnt. He just wanted them dead. This season, I still didnt like him very much until the episode where Isobel returned. At that time I was able to tell he was sincere in keeping Elena safe and I trusted him from there out especially after she told him she wanted to keep him around. After this episode, I can say he was more than honorable. It was so amazing that he sacrificed his life so that Elena would be able to live hers and be better for her family. That was too sweet. I definitely cried, I thought he was amazing in his actions and I am now sad that he is gone.
