The damahe that the vampires take
-
Hey!
I have wondered a bit about the damage the vampires take.
In the start of the show in the episode "162 Candles" Stefan stakes Damon in the stomach with a stake(duh). He agony a bit, then pulls it out, and is good to go. Then hen Katherine comes. We know see is alot stronger than Damon and Stefan, which is why Stefan start drinking blood. But when they try to assasinate her in "Masquerade" she take multiple stakes pretty much everywhere without suffering that much. We assume the reason see can this is simply because she is stronger. But then something happend that i wondered a lot and still wonder about. The werewolfs came, and wanted the vampires dead. Stefan takes 1 stake from them, IN THE BACK, and he pretty much passes out. Damon take 1 shot from a wooden bullet, and also almost passes out. But we have seen Damon taking like 10 bullets from Logan, where he pulled them out and could even stand. But now from 1 bullet he goes down and is "paralysed". Then later in "The House Guest" we see Katherine, who seems to be hard to kill and wound with stakes, take a stake in the stomach by Luca. She goes down unable to move, where she before pulled them out and didn't care.
How is this possible??
It's like they take different damage, even though technically, they should all grow stronger as time passes.
I don't know it is just something the writers didn't think about, but seriously it dosen't make sense.

Yeah, you know I've wndered this too? I guess they've jsut put it down to the face of vampires being 'prepared' to take a stake/bullet into their bodies? And if they are it doesn't affect them as much? I don't know? :o

Stefan and Damon also passed out as Sheriff Forbes shot them in the woods in 2x05... I've never really thought about that, but that's confusing!

They paSsed out in 2x05 because they were also injected with vervain, so they couldn't take the bullets out. I think it has something to do with taking the bullets out. Since they are made of wood it hurts and weakens them when they are still inside the body.Posted 3/26/2011 1:35:02 PM #

There is one more thing i don't know if you've noticed. But in S02E05 when they get shot, the bullets passes through Stefan's body but not through Damon :D
Technical error!:D

@Halde, you are very observant, aren't you? :P I think the idea was that fans would be so horrified that it was the beloved Salvatore's getting shot that they wouldn't search for things like that?XD

I've never actually thought of that... Maybe is just about how bad the wound is. Just like when a normal person gets shot, if it hits something vital you probably die but if it doesn't you have a better chance of surviving. Maybe vampires get hurt more if the wooden bullet hits them faster or if the stake hits a vital part... don't really know just saying :)
