The Moon Stone Curse?
Can someone explain the moon stone curse to me again? I get confused every episode! I thought it had something to do with the werewolves.Posted 11/4/2010 9:07:19 PM #
So, everyone thought the moonstone eliminated the werewolf curse...turns out it does the opposite...it triggers it. The only way to end it apparently is to kill Katerina (Katherine's) doppleganger.
This is what confuses me...why does she have to be killed? It doesnt make sense. Hopefully they'll explain more the next episode.Posted 11/4/2010 9:10:00 PM #
Lol thanks for the explanation! It is pretty crazy, I want to know Elena's role in all of this!! So kill Elena, kill the werewolves??Posted 11/4/2010 9:11:55 PM #
Yeah I think that's it...your welcome!Posted 11/4/2010 9:20:56 PM #
Here's my theory
When Rose said that Katherine was the first petrova doppleganger that means there must have been another Elena look-alike before katherine and in order to break the curse katherine had to be sacraficed. So to avoid her fate she turned into a vampire making her unable to be a mortal sacrifice. Therefore pissed off the originals which caused her to fake her death. Now the cycle has started all over again and Elena is the human doppleganger which makes her the perfect sacrifice. I think thats why katherine offered her blood to Elena in the promo so she couldn't be used as a sacrifice either.Posted 11/5/2010 12:59:12 AM #
From what i can remember, sacrificing the doppelganger breaks the Sun and Moon curse. Meaning that if the curse is broken the vampire will no longer be a slave to the sun (no more burning in the day) and werewolfs will no longer be slaves to the moon (they will be able to transform whenever whereever).Posted 11/5/2010 1:14:13 AM #
So if the moonstone sealed the curse and the doppelganger sacrifice breaks the curse, then why the hell does Katherine need to have a werewolf pet? How do the werewolves play into this, I wonder?! And what's up with the Petrovas and doppelgangers?!Posted 11/5/2010 1:57:35 AM #
I think Katherine wants a werewolf under her control to protect herself from the Originals.
And from what i got of the dialog Katherine was the first doppelganger, meaning she was also a doppelganger of someone earlier in the Petrova line.
Really interesting stuff going on.Posted 11/5/2010 2:12:23 AM #
Yeah. Totally possible. We saw in the last episode that the originals can't die by being staked or can't be completely incapacitated by vervain, so maybe they can only be killed through a werewolf bite. Vampires and werewolves are the original enemies, right - as we're told by Vanessa Monroe. I have a feeling that Tyler might end up being the big hero in the end...
And by "Petrovas and doppelgangers" I meant what's up with doppelgangers occuring specificaly in the Petrova line. I get a sense that Katherine's original doppelganger was a vampire who had something to do with the shaman and his Aztec curse of the sun and the moon. Maybe they made some kind of a deal and that's why her line becomes the key to undoing the curse.
Also, rere_waldorf mentioned that Katherine might have escaped being sacrifice by turning into a vampire. And, Trevor mentioned that he helped her escape her fate - so it is possible that he might have been the one to turn her into a vampire?! I actually wanted Klaus to be her sire just like in the book... but maybe the series has its own surprises in store.Posted 11/5/2010 3:04:53 AM #
after watching this week episode, im completely lost about what the moonstone's function is.
so sacrificing the doppelgangercan break the SUN AND MOON curse, is it?
although the vampires can walk under the sun, werewolves could also transform whenever they want. so why breaking the curse to put the vampires themselves in danger?
btw, nice speculation! i never thought that trevor would be the one to change katherine into a vampire to save her from sacrifice.Posted 11/5/2010 6:13:15 AM #
