Don't know if somebody's mentioned this, I didn't even know this was in the works. Thoughts? Do you guys think this plan'll see fruition?

I'll just repost what I said in that thread then:
Splitting up TVD into two equally pointless shows is the best fucking idea ever.
- The Original show then will have all the klaus fangirls who will be able to watch Originals stand around in suits while doing nothing.
- TVD will have all the FIVE people who stan Elena remain as viewers. Not to mention the crackship will finally end.
Then after total of one season of both, both get cancelled and I regain my peace of mind.
Oh please its quite clear that Plec is leaving TVD to die by cancellation, having written herself into a corner in terms of continuing it. She just wants to transfer all the fanservice elements into a new spin off, before spending few seasons to ruin it even more too.
Otherwise it won't work
- Already dwindling and dying TVD fanbase will be split, which normally will cause TVD to finally die, which I guess they are expecting and that's the reason for this spin off.
- However I doubt that Klaus fangirls enough will be enough to support Originals Spin Off, since those "characters" offer absolutely nothing to draw in a bigger following than already existing fangirls.

Rumors are Caroline might die so it could be a set up for her to join the spinoff. They have to keep Stefan because of the love triangle but Borwood is dying out. I know KC fans are already bombarding JP with tweets.

@BN, actually TVD's ratings are pretty even with last season and even if the ratings take a massive nose dive in s5, the CW likes offering last chances too long running shows. TVD will probably continue till s6, which is as many seasons as the planned right?

I actually don't think the show will make it passed the pilot phase and even if it airs, how would that work, a show about them is present day? What exactly would this entail though and how many villians can the writers actually come up with that are stronger than the originals?
