   Because Damon was set to go on a wolf hunt and Stefan was trying to track Isobel down... nobody could tell about the dementia and such, so no one's guilty in that way.

   They didn't know the wolf bite makes vampire go crazy since it was the first time they saw a vampire get bitten by it.

   Initially Damon left her there because he needed someone to look after Rose and he didn't know about the actual effects of the wolf bite. Neither of them knew what that bite would've actually done so neither really left her there knowing that she'd be harmed.

   Well neither of them thought the bite would send rose crazy..she was weak and seemed pretty harmless when they left. They both know that Elena is really caring and a "do gooder" and probably thought that she would be the best person to look after a dying rose if they couldn't be there !

   They don't know the after-effects of a wolf bite and since Rose is on their side, they don't think she will harm Elena. If they would've known the dementia thing, knowing how much the two brothers love Elena, they will surely would have not let Elena stay with Rose.

   Yea seriously I knew something was going to go down once Damon left. They should never leave Elena alone. Caroline should have stayed with her or something.

   I agree, he should not have left her. BUTTT remember Jules told Damon about what Rose would become, so of course Damon knew Elena was in danger, but he took his sweet time coming home. When Jules told Damon it was daytime. Then it switched to Elena and she was still in the room and it was night time. SO he was gone a longg time.
