Is it ever going to happen? She loves wet-blanket stefan; who is obviously going to return to normal by season 4 and want her again. I saw Kevin William said that not much is going to build with damon and elena, so are they just going to have tention at the beginning and just be friends? - The cant just do that? Elena obviously has some attraction to damon, not just the opposite way round.

According to info right now, he does not stop and even bad-steffan is full of epic-elena-love...

According to info right now, thats all they will be for most of s3. Because DE gets reset at every season ending. S1 they are developed and all then come s2 and damon pulls stupid shit and it all begins anew except more boring.

They have been doing return-to-status-quo with pretty much every storyline or event, even with friggin deaths.
Elena obviously has some attraction to damon, not just the opposite way round.
Current messianic-would-not-hurt-a-fly-miss-perfect-mary-sue-jesus-reincarnation? Doubt it.

I think as of right now, Elena and Damon our building a relationship based on friendship and trust because of all that's happened and with Elena still battling her confused feelings for Damon. There is attraction there though and I have a feeling that next season or in season 4, we will have a Delena relationship bruing. The writers want to rush into anything, because rushing that relationship would make Elena seem like Katherine, which she's not.

You know, that would actually make an exciting storyline. Exploration of similarities between Kat and Elena, etc, elena's character developing, show acknowledging that most of her character in s2 was bullshit and all... But....
Yes, we can't have Elena's character become multi-dimensional, let's continue tomake has as bland and as goodie as possible...

Sometimes its just depressing being a delena fan.... delena is just so heart-wrenching and tragic..... but then its beautiful and its amazing too.... Sometimes Im like 'why bother being a delena fan? "It will always be Stefan"... '
But then its like I wont ever be able to stop shipping them... cuz when its real you cant walk away....

Idk I hope they do get together at some stage...
I guess S3 will just b about their friendship and bond strictly...
^But even then, it won't always be progressing.... it'll always be '1 step forward, 2 steps back', etc. etc.

Tbh, and i have said this before, i don't think they will EVER happen with Stefan around. It would be immensly akward. . .

And unless they relocate Steffan to new york to work as private investigator there I don't see that happening ;]
The fun thing is, I could see it working with Book-Elena, since she most likely would go "yeh i like him more, stuff yourself and focus on task at hand"
