I think its because of Katherine being in all black. with stefan in colours, it shows he has nothing bad about him, and he's not going to go back to the past. with Damon still wearing a bit of black, its showing he's moving on, but hes still vunerable to be persuaded to go back to his old ways. AND he drinks human blood (occasionally a bad thing)
