New Melrose Place Poster Teases Return of Heather Locklear

As you might expect, The CW is doing everything in its power to hype the return of Heather Locklear.

The actress reprises the classic role of Amanda Woodward on the November 17 episode of Melrose Place, still images from which you can check out now.

The network has also released a new promotional poster, warning fellow characters to watch their backs over the next few months...

It's no secret that ratings for Melrose Place have been tanking. The show hopes this return will create a spike, along with the recent cast shake-up.

Colin Egglesfield and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz are out; while it's recently been confirmed that Nick Zano is in.

The Big Bang Theory Review: "The Cornhusker Vortex"

Like any other The Big Bang Theory fan, we watch the show for Sheldon.  Last night, however, Sheldon took more of a backseat role as he tutored Leonard on football.

Leonard in Football Jersey

The episode's leads were definitely Wolowitz and Raj this episode, even though they had the B side story.  The two boys had a rift in their bromance when Wolowitz ditched Raj in a key moment during their kite fight to persue a woman he had no chance with.

The rest of the episode, Wolowitz attempted to win Raj back over with gifts and a lovely date.  Although some of it was a little cheesy, these two guys certainly proved they can still hold the show while Leonard has lame Penny storylines and Sheldon is in the background.

Catch up with the full events of the episode in our "The Cornhusker Vortex" recap, but more importantly, let's go over some of the best of The Big Bang Theory quotes from the episode:

Raj: Leonard just realized that Penny's been hiding him from her friends because he's a tiny little man who flies kites | permalink
Raj: You always do this, you know. You ditch me for a woman you have no shot with
Wolowitz: I totally had a shot
Raj: With a woman you were chasing through a park? That's not a shot, that's a felony | permalink
Raj: The only thing I've learned in the last two hours is that American men love drinking beer, pee too often, and have trouble getting erections.
Leonard: Focus on the game, not the commercials, Raj.
Raj: I'm just saying, maybe if you people cut back on the beer, you could get out of the bathroom and satisfy your women without pharmaceutical help. | permalink

Eden Riegel Won't Return to All My Children

Sorry, All My Children fans.

After careful consideration, Eden Riegel won't be rejoining the soap opera after it relocates to Los Angeles in the near future. She Tweeted yesterday:

Hey Guys, not-great news to share. Looks like it isn't going to work out for me going back to AMC when they move out to LA. I'm very sad...

Riegel isn't alone in this decision. Thorsten Kaye is also leaving All My Children.

Two and a Half Men Review: "Give Me Your Thumb"

While we're not entirely sold on the Chelsea plotline that has been the focus of season seven of Two and a Half Men, it certainly has led to some unique storylines.

During this week's episode, Alan suggested to Chelsea that she solve her lifelong backpains with a boob reduction.  We're pretty sure we've never seen Charlie angrier.

Alan Helps Chelsea

For one of the first times we can remember in seven season, Charlie kicked Alan out of the house and went so far as to pray and even cry.  Charlie's reactions were definitely the highlight of the episode.

Meanwhile, Alan spent the weekend at his mother's, which as always led to some hilarious Evelyn moments.  You can catch up with the full events of this decent episode in our "Give Me Your Thumb" recap.

Now for some of the best Two and a Half Men quotes of the half hour:

Charlie: I'll tell you what helps pain, pain pills. In fact, I saw a guy on the news with a nail in his head and thanks to pain pills he was laughing
Alan: What about addiction?
Charlie: That's the least of his problem, he has a nail in his head! | permalink
Charlie [to Alan]: Let's make one thing clear, the only acceptable boob reduction in this house is you moving out | permalink
Evelyn [to Alan]: You suggested Charlie's fiancee get small breasts? Why not reinstate prohibition while you're at it? | permalink
Chelsea: They're not our boobs, they're my breasts
Charlie: If you were to dust them for prints right now, who would be suspects number one? | permalink

Scott Wolf Speaks on V Remake

In the interest of full disclosure: the TV Fanatic staff has had a slight crush on Scott Wolf since his days on Party of Five.

Therefore, you can only imagine how excited we were to hear of his return to primetime on the highly-anticipated ABC drama V.

The show, a remake of a classic 1980s miniseries, premieres tonight. We'll review the pilot episode soon after it airs, but let's hear from Wolf first, courtesy of a recent interview with TV Guide...

On his character, reporter Chad Decker: When we meet him and see his first encounter with [Anna], the leader of the Visitors, he's put in a position where he's forced to either give up the opportunity of a lifetime or compromise himself in a deep way. You come to understand why Chad is wired the way he is.

Chad Decker Photo

On the surface, Chad is not necessarily the best guy. He's very ambitious, but I think the thing that makes him really complicated and fun to play is that he's ambiguous. There's a sense that he's a little up for grabs. In a larger way, he represents an idea, in terms of how much faith should be placed in our media figures. It asks the question: Is that a good idea? Or is it potentially dangerous?

On potential Visitors: part of the fun of the show is your schoolteacher, your waiter at a restaurant, your own cousin could be a Visitor. I think that underlying suspicion makes for a lot of fun.

How I Met Your Mother Review: "Bagpipes"

While this week's episode of How I Met Your Mother had Ted as merely a supporting character with absolutely no mother storyline, it was still classic HIMYM to us.

Barney and Lily Kiss!

Why?  Because the episode used so many of the classic Bays and Thomas storytelling devices:

  • Reminiscent of the sandwiches, Future Ted called the upstairs neighbors having loud sex, bagpiping.  We hope they make a clever reference to this in a future episode
  • The clever Marshall and Lily fight sequence where copies of the couple fighting around the room appeared.  Felt very HIMYM to us.
  • The entire sequence in which Barney explained how he would have handled Lily was nothing short of amazing.  Marshall then attempting to re-enact it?  Ever more amazing.

You can catch up on the full events with our "Bagpipes" recap, but trust us, you need to watch this episode.  Who cares if there was no mother or overall plotline development, it was classic HIMYM.

Now for some of the best How I Met Your Mother quotes from the episode:

Robin: Okay, this is ridiculous. I can't believe these two are still bagpiping
Ted: Enough! It's been six hours1 It must be that new tantric bagpiping that Sting is into
Robin: She keeps yelling at him to play the bigpipes louder, but it sounds like she's bagpiping him pretty hard. There's a glass of water in my bedroom that's vibrating like Jurassic Park
Ted: You have neighbors, so shut the bagpipes up! | permalink
Robin [to Barney]: Why is there bag of panties labeled "April 2006" in your closet?
Barney: There are so many great things to do with the human mouth, why waste it on talking? | permalink

One Tree Hill Music from "(I Just) Died in Your Arms Tonight"

Nathan took some time away this week on One Tree Hill.

What did you think of the episode, which also focused on Brooke and Haley bonding, as well as Quinn assisting Clay with a tragic loss?

Heroes Review: "Once Upon A Time In Texas"

For loyal, long-time viewers, this week's episode of Heroes was a trip down memory lane.

While it was fun to visit Odessa again, and to be reunited with old friends (Hi, Isaac!), it was also a painful reminder of just how great this series used to be. Homecoming? Isaac's painting? Save the Cheerleader, Save the World?

Ah, the good ol' days of tight, gripping storytelling.

Charlie and Hiro Kiss

Charlie and Hiro K-I-S-S-I-N-G! Discuss this episode in our Heroes forum!

Last night's installment, though, served a very important purpose: it shed light on Samuel's grand plan and it gave the season a direction. That's all we've asked for from Heroes: a sensible plot that builds momentum and brings characters together for a common cause. Again, think back to season one and the eventual meeting in NYC.

Only the most cynical critic would claim he isn't curious about what happens next on the show now. However, are we supposed to be sad that Mohinder was supposedly killed? Because I let out a cry of joy when I saw his body.

Gossip Girl Review: "The Grandfather: Part II"

Last night's Gossip Girl featured a political scandal and a battle royale between Blair and Serena that easily trumped Tripp's bid for Congress in intensity and bitterness.

Here's an episode guide to "The Grandfather: Part II" if you missed it. Now, here's a rundown of what worked, what didn't and why. Fortunately, most of it did work.

Blair and Serena are at each other's throats. Why? Who really even remembers with these two. All that matters is that their game of one-upmanship is on, b!tches!

B didn't want S at Tripp van der Bilt's election party (more on Tripp later), but she showed with fake boyfriend Patrick Roberts. Meanwhile, B had her own fake BFF.

Determined to make S jealous, B made a friend at NYU. A friend who it turned out was a call girl. S outed her to Chuck. B outed S fake-dating her movie star beau.

Things came to a head and ended with Blair's head in a cake. We loved Chuck's effort to mend fences, and the fact that it wasn't that easy. They remain on the outs.

Last night's primary story line was a good one. With the polls too close to call on Election Day, Nate's cousin thinks he needs a miracle to win a seat in U.S. Congress.

Then he gets it ... or does he?

The SVDW

Serena van der Woodsen lost a friend and her job last night.

As luck would have it, Tripp sees a guy drowning in the Hudson River and saves him. He's all over the news, just the boost this "hero" needs in the final hours of his election bid.

But Vanessa, who's making a documentary of Tripp's campaign, gets it on tape, and sees that the guy jumped in the river on purpose. Self-righteous V outs the plot to the news.

Tripp and Nate's grandfather denies involvement. Tripp is about to bow out of the race - he'd rather lose honorably than win dirty - when Nate steps in with our favorite scene.

Before Tripp can quit the race, Nate falls on his sword for him, admitting he set up the plot, but Tripp had nothing to do with it. In fact, Tripp really is that honorable hero on TV.

Tripp wins. He's going to Congress. And in a surprising twist, his wife, Maureen, orchestrated it. While slightly confusing, it was a compelling story line from start to finish.

Elsewhere, Dan and Olivia hit a hurdle as she told an embarrassing story about him on Late Night, then tried to prevent her boyfriend from seeing the clip online or anywhere.

We were a bit disappointed that the story wasn't really that embarrassing, but the resolution to this drawn-out story that seemed like filler turned out to be pretty cute.

Dan, being a romantic, was more concerned with the fact that she let slip it was their one-month anniversary than about anything she said about his bathroom habits.

He planned a surprise. They made up (even though there was no fight). Aww.
