Gossip Girl: MIAMI (5/14/2011)

I've never seen 90210 - What's it about? Is it worth watching? I've always thought it was some show like Gossip Girl so I never bothered watching it lol as I already watch a lot of TV.

I think the reason why people watch shows about rich people is because it's like a fantasy world..they like it because they can't relate to it. It's like an escape from reality. But I totally understand where you're coming from. It's a good point. I'll look into it :)

Hey thanks so much for your feedback everyone!

I guess most of you are right - the drugs and clubs of Miami has been done before, and like someone pointed out above, Gossip Girl has a limited framework.

I'm not going to change the location as I think Miami is perfect for this kind of thing: it has a huge gap between the rich and poor, and it has an ocean, but I will re-think the main plot :)

Hey guys, I'm thinking of writing a series with different characters but the same concept as Gossip Girl. Instead of being set in NYC, it's going to be set in Miami. The rich live a luxurious lifestyle in Miami: incredible cars, beautiful women, sparkling waters, hot climate, golden beaches, huge shopping malls, glamourous nightclubs, ocean drive, expensive alcohol. But within this city of paradise, there are loads of problems: drugs, violence, pornography and illegal immigrants in Overtown and Little Havana, and the main characters can't escape the real situations taking place outside of South Beach. What do you think of this idea? Does anyone have any suggestions? Things to include? Thanks :)

My inspiration for this has come from Gossip Girl, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (Video Game) and Fastlane (TV Show 2002-3)
