Rufus: (to paparazzi) Wait! Serena, you've done some modeling, haven't you? Which side of my face makes me look more "Edgy rock star, yet caring father" and less "Trophy husband"?

  • If you could choose one character to get spinoff.... (1/3/2010)

I'm going to have to say Eric, mostly because I make up all these crazy stories in my head explaining where it is that he goes when he disappears and none of the other characters mention it.

  • The single moment I started hating _______ (12/17/2009)

Jenny: 1.03, when she promised Eric that she wouldn't tell anyone about his suicide attempt and then turned around and told Dan.  Yeah, she was defending Serena to him, but Serena was choosing to mislead him, and it was Serena's place to tell Dan the truth or not.

Eleanor: 1.04, when she told Blair that she knew that she (Blair) would forgive her eventually.  This is true, and it's also true that she should make the best decision for her company, even if it hurts her daughter's feelings, but that is just the worst justification ever.

Vanessa: 1.06, when she acted like Dan betrayed her by dating Serena.  She turned him down, and then they didn't see each other for a year.  She doesn't own him.

Dan: 1.17-18, when he slept with Georgina, defended her to Serena when she found them together the morning after, and then judged Serena for lying.

Jenny: She gets another!  I had started feeling lukewarm about her, instead of just plain hatred, so she made up for it.  2.01, when she decides to apologize to Eric not because she feels bad, but because she wants an invite to the White Party.

Blair: The entire Lord Marcus thing.  I just hated that storyline.

Serena: 2.13, when she yelled at Chuck for being selfish at Bart's funeral.  Parents' funerals are the days that people get free passes to be as selfish as they want.

Rufus: 2.15, for being such a jerk to Lily about wanting to give up on the long lost son.  I can understand wanting to meet a son you never knew you had, but I can also imagine not wanting to see the baby you gave up.

Lily: 3.09, when I realized that she'd possibly talked to Jenny more in the past four episodes than she'd talked to her bio kids (her long lost son, the former drug addict, and the formerly suicidal one) and her adopted kid (the former suicidal drug addict) in the entire run of the show.

Mind you, these aren't permanent hatreds.  The only character that I consistently hate is Jenny.
