I'm setting into the S2 changes a bit more. Overall loved this episode. Really liking the new Mackenzie - still a bit goofy but showing more of her strong side. And the scenes with Sloan and Don were great. I wish there had been more screen time there. I agree that Will's woo-ing of Nina was a bit much, but I actually liked the Obama/Osama joke. It was funny tie-in to the actual episode when he was so high he kept confusing the two. Things I'm not liking - Jim's story arc away from the office/team, and Maggie about to leave the office/team. The stories are all too segregated for my taste. And while I love Hamish Linklater, his character is a distraction for me. I want the original team back together. But overall, it's still one of the best shows on TV right now.
I still love the show, but I curse all those who complained about season 1. I'm not liking the changes so far. The team is completely disjointed. In this ep, we have Jim in New Hampshire, Don on the Troy Davis story, Neil on Occupy Wall Street, Maggie on Africa/recovery from the video scandal, and the new guy on Genoa. This episode almost lost me, until it came together at its traditional 'inspirational song, team bonding' end. That's my favorite part. But I think they're going too far to fix whatever people thought was wrong. Bring the team back together!!
this season is painful for me so far. i came on board a little late and i was actually a bit glad to hear that boris has died (just in the sense that the hard-to-believe storyline was finally over)but then he pops back up, as always. and i'm not liking the storyline with the cop and molly. i feel like they are trying to force in a young person to replace tucker and libby from earlier seasons, but it's not working. it just seems like a random, disjointed season, without the charm of previous seasons.
