  Unless they contradict their previous episodes, they can't have a baby between the Chief and Ellis. Ellis, in one of her brief lucid moments with the Chief said she wished things had been different, where they had kids together and raised them. She cared for the chief too much to give up his child and she probably would have mentioned that kid too if he had existed during her conversations with the chief.

  From the sounds of it, with a high LDH level, a dark nodule that was removed and evaluated by a dermatologist, and neuro symptoms, she probably has malignant melanoma with brain metastases. A high LDH level and neuro finding would indicate the worst prognosis, 6-12 months to live with a 10% 5 year survival rate. The first step is to get a chest x-ray after initial diagnosis with a melanoma, so it fits the storyline for this next week.
