I think that Vanessa was a fantastic character for the first and second seasons. However, the writers got lazy with not only her character, but a lot of other characters around season 3. I think that people tend to notice it more with Vanessa because they never liked Vanessa to begin with. You won't find a bigger Vanessa fan than me but even I thought that Jess leaving the show was the best idea. I hated what they did to my favorite character. It was so not in character.

This is kind of far out of left field, but I think it's Sam's sister that dies. They said that it's female. They said that they're a 'beloved' family member (the Glee club have all met Sam's sister), and they say that Sam's mom will be in the episode. I think it's the only thing that really makes sense.

Agreed. All of that makes sense. Let's not forget the random pregnancy test in the trash. The whole show seems to be going to Hell in a handbasket.

I think it's going to be Sam's sister after reading all the clues that they put out there. Well, we'll find out soon enough.
