I agree with you on nearly every aspect. After the first episode, I had misgivings. I was afraid given its early time slot and the subject matter that it might ultimately be too light, too cutesy, to effectively sustain interest. I will admit to being pleasantly proven wrong. This series is growing into its own with each new episode. I initially tuned in because of the subject matter and Jennifer Morrison (Emma,) but I've stayed because of solid writing as well as Roberty Carlyle's deliciously creepy Rumpelstiltskin and Lana Parrilla's fierce, ice-hearted Mayor/Queen(Regina). For my money, she's definitely one of the breakout stars of 2011.
